TOPIC: THE HELP OF GOD – A DEPENDABLE ASSET
SCRIPTURE: But there came a man of God to him, saying, O king, let not the army of Israel go with thee; for the Lord is not with Israel, to wit, with all the children of Ephraim. But if thou wilt go, do it, be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down – 2 Chronicles 25:7-8
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God has the capacity to assist or resist
Help is an assistance that is done for or given to somebody in order to make something easier, possible or better. The help of God is God’s assistance to a person. When God decides to help a man, He gives a Divine Assistance that makes things easier for the man.
Take note of these two key thoughts on the Help of God:
1. God has the capacity to help or hinder: God has the capacity to assist or resist. He has the capacity to raise one up or ruin one depending on what they deserve. He can help or hinder, help or hurt. The Scripture says, 'The Lord killeth and maketh alive' (1 Samuel 2:6). He raised Joseph up and ruined Pharaoh; He enthroned David but dethroned Saul. He desires to raise you and not to ruin you, if only you will allow Him to assist you. Do not be like Pharaoh, Saul or Nebuchadnezzar who put God under pressure to ruin them.
2.The Help of God is superior to the help of man: The Bible says in Psalms 60:11, ‘Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.’
The help of God is greater than the help of a man; it lifts man from vanity, but vain is the help of man. I prophesy that help of God on your life today, in Jesus’ Name.
Remember this: God has the capacity to assist or resist.
ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Ask God to show you His Help.
2. Desist from anything that will make God hinder your progress in life.
PRAYER: O LORD, help me to become what You created me to be. Help me not to do anything that will make You hinder me in life, in Jesus’ Name.
