DIVINE KEYS TO ACCESSING THE BENEFITS OF FASTING
SCRIPTURE: And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. – Mark 9:29
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Behind every total transformation, there is a revelation.
There are some mountains, challenges, and issues of life that cannot be handled except we subject ourselves to intensive prayer and fasting. Prayer and fasting is the key to dealing with the stubborn issues of life. That is the thrust of our anchor Scripture.
What then are the keys to accessing the benefits of prayer and fasting?
1. Be in the Word: Ensure that your spirit is stuffed with the Word of God during fasting and prayer period. There should be no vacancy for the devil in your spirit. Some people hear strange voices during fasting and prayer because of lack of access to the Word. That will not be your portion, in Jesus’ Name.
2. Be Sensitive and Expectant: Your ears should be open to hear God. Keep your notebook beside you permanently. I saw a revelation one day while I was sleeping, and I woke up to write every detail of it. When eventually I looked at what I wrote, I discovered that it was a deep insight that could keep me going for a whole year. And I asked myself, ‘what if I did not write it?’ I would have missed spiritual insight for a whole year. Many times, when we receive revelations in the morning, we put off writing it, and we might lose the details in the process of time. Behind every total transformation, there is a revelation. Your life will be transformed in Jesus’ Name.
Remember this: Behind every total transformation, there is a revelation.
ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Endeavour to read the Bible intensively whenever you embark on the spiritual exercise of prayer and fasting.
2. Record every revelation and instruction from the Holy Spirit through any channel by writing it down
3. Meditate on what you wrote down in (2) above and take action
PRAYER: O LORD, open my eyes to see light out of Your Word. Help me LORD, to take necessary actions in Jesus’ Name.
