THE DISTINGUISHING FACTOR IN DESTINY
SCRIPTURE: And the Lord said unto her, two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger. – Genesis 25:23
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What distinguishes people in life are values and principles.
For a very long time, I have wondered why people end differently in life even when they start at the same level. Two persons may start in life as friends, play together, and school together, but at the end of their lives, everything becomes different. You may begin to wonder what must have gone wrong. At times among school mates or class mates, someone who used to be ahead academically may become different all of a sudden and end up with negative outcomes and results in life.
I noticed the same trend among Christian brethren: two persons may answer the altar call at the same time, grow up together in the faith, get filled with the Holy spirit at the same time, go through the same Bible School together but they end up differently in life. Now, what could be responsible for this?
I have discovered that what distinguishes people in life and destiny is values and principles. This refers to how we think, what we do, why we do what we do, etc.
Values also refer to what we consider the most important thing in life. Our sense of values is the driving force behind our actions in life. They are the set of standards in our lives that set us apart from others.
Therefore, if you want to end up positively different from others, cultivate a strong value system for life. This is what distinguishes two people in life.
Remember this: What distinguishes people in life are values and principles
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Carefully study the lives of people of values and outstanding results to discover the secrets behind their making.
2. Practice these values in order to be valued in life
PRAYER: O LORD, I repent from a life without values. Give me strong values and principles for living in Jesus’ Name.
