BEING UNDER AUTHORITY TO BE IN AUTHORITY

SCRIPTURE: For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. – Matthew 8:9

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be a leader, you must be a learner

The will of God for His children is to be in positions of authority. God is not a God of mediocrity and hence, He does not desire any of His children to live a life of mediocrity. To live in mediocrity, therefore, is an abuse of Christianity.

Now, how does God place one in authority? What is the key to being in authority?

The key is simple: be under authority.
From our anchor scripture, the centurion said “I am a man under authority.” That means that the centurion, though in authority was under another authority.

Beloved, please remain under authority because to be in authority, you must be under authority. Nobody can successfully be in authority who is not under authority. To be a leader, you must be a learner. Nobody can be a successful leader without being a successful learner.

Instruction is a prerequisite for distinction. Instruction is the pathway to distinction. You have to remain under instruction if you want to see distinction. You should never agree to have arrived at any point in your life.

Remember, those who arrive too soon arrive too small. Whenever you think you have reached your peak, you are only set for the pit. Make up your mind that you are not yet at your peak. Keep on keeping on. I once heard Papa Bishop Oyedepo say, “No star can function at his best without a role model. You do not play your role at your best without a role model.” Beloved, place yourself under instruction, and as you do so, I believe your day of unusual authority has arrived.

Remember this: To be a leader, you must be a learner

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind never to arrive too soon; do not be too big to be instructed
2. Learn from everything and everyone.

PRAYER: Help me LORD to remain under authority regardless of my status in life. Give me the grace to learn from everything and everyone, in Jesus’ Name.

THE PROOF OF LOVE

SCRIPTURE: Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. – 1 Corinthians 13:4 (AMP)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Until we release the past, we cannot receive the future.

In 1 John 4:8, the Bible makes it clear that God is love. Therefore, to walk with God, you must work in love (Amos 3:3). Nobody can walk with God with hatred in their hearts towards their neighbour. This is because God is love.

Love cannot be without proofs. What then are the proofs of love?

1. Love is kind and generous; love gives.
Love is a giver of resources, time and attention.
A lover is a value creator and an enhancer.
When love is at work, kindness and generosity become natural. As a worker who serves God in church, someone should be able to encounter you and go home smiling with a lasting positive impression.

2. Love is courteous and not rude.
Love exudes courtesy and politeness regardless of your status. For instance, if you are a billionaire and you greet someone politely, will that reduce your financial worth? Until we learn courtesy, we lack future. Love treats other people with value and respect. Do not look down on people or underrate them.

3. Love is not irritable, touchy, quarrelsome or offense-ready.
There are people who are like bombs waiting to be detonated. Love is not like that. Love is not picky. People lose jobs and placement because of their irritable disposition.

4. Love forgives
Love easily releases offences; it does not keep malice or grudge. Love does not remember yesterday’s offenses and forfeit tomorrow’s progress. And until we release the past, we cannot receive the future.

I prophesy upon you the grace to release all offences today in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Until we release the past, we cannot receive the future.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Ask God to saturate your heart with love.
2. Make a daily practice of showing love to someone.
3. Refuse to allow grudges settle in your heart.

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask for the saturation of my heart with love for You. Help me LORD to make practical demonstration of love a daily habit in Jesus’ Name.

KEYS TO ACCESSING AUTHORITY

SCRIPTURE: For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. – Matthew 8:9

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be in authority, you must know who you are.

It has been confirmed that being placed in the position of authority brings favour, audience, abundance and influence. The meaning of this is: if God wants to give you favour, access, audience, abundance and influence, He places you in authority.

Now, how can a man access authority?
Maintain the right mentality.
What mentality? It is the mentality of authority. From our anchor scripture, the centurion said, “I am a man under authority, I have soldiers under me.” This means that the centurion knew who he was; he had the right mentality about authority.

Therefore, to be in authority, you must know who you are. You have to be up and doing in your assignment. You have to know who you are, where you desire to be in life and work towards it. Don’t live with a blank mind. The Bible says in Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…’ So, if you think like a defeated person, you are a defeated person. If you think like a person in authority, you are a person of authority. Renew and renovate your mind on a continuous basis, identifying who you are and where you know God wants you to be. Know who you are, what you want out of life, and do what it takes to achieve it.

Remember this: To be in authority, you must know who you are

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Renew your mind with the word daily.
2. Live according to the word of God and not according to the dictates of your situation
3. Live the word.

THE EFFECT OF WORD-BASED PRAYER

SCRIPTURE: Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips. – Hosea 14:2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Word of God shows you what is yours.

From our anchor scripture today, we can see that Word-based praying is the secret of impact prayer. This is because God is not moved by our tears or emotions but by His Word. Therefore, prayer becomes effective only when backed with the Word of God and not with tears and sentiment.

Now, what are the effects of Words in prayer?
1) God’s Word shows us our inheritances and portion in God (Acts 20:32)
It is God’s Word that shows us what to ask for. For instance, it is through the Word of God that we know that, “…with His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:3-5). That means that you are healed and meant to remain healed permanently. It is when you locate the right word that you can go to God in prayers and tell him, “On this basis Lord, I demand for this and reject that”. The Word of God shows you what is yours. (Deuteronomy 29:29). It belongs to you when it is revealed.

2) The Word of God builds our faith to receive what we need from God (Romans 10:8)
God’s Word is the Word of faith, so, to feed on His Word is to feed on faith. Your faith helps you to receive things from God, and the Word enhances faith.

3) The Word of God helps us to pray according to the will of God. (1 John 5:15)
God only answers prayer that is in line with His will

Remember this: The word of God shows you what is yours.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind to study at least a chapter of the Bible daily
2. Pray for light and insight as you study
3. Pray into your life the light from God’s word and take steps where necessary.

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask for a deeper dimension of insight from Your Word. Show me the right and relevant Word that will change my situation, in Jesus’ Name.

THE EVIDENCE OF LOVE

SCRIPTURE: ‘…Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking…’ – 1 Corinthians 13:5 (AMP)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Where love is absent, people get pre-occupied with themselves.

Love is one critical requirement for effective and profitable service in the House of God. The service acceptable by God is the service born out of love. Profitability in service is guaranteed if the service is born out of love for the brethren. You cannot claim to love God you cannot see when you hate your fellow brothers or sisters that you can see.

The truth is you cannot pretend to love as there are unmistakable evidences of love.  How does God measure your love for Him?

One of the evidences or proofs of love is that Love is considerate. Love is both sympathetic and empathetic. Love has a wide margin of sympathy and empathy for others. Love considers the feelings of other people. A person who loves has the comforts, convenience and interests of others at heart.

Where love is absent, people get pre-occupied with themselves. Love makes you put yourself in the shoes of others.

But it is “lovelessness” and wickedness that can make a strange woman break the home of a married man by separating him from his wife and children.

That will not be your portion in Jesus’ Name. I prophesy the baptism of fresh love of God on your life in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Where love is absent, people get pre-occupied with themselves.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Avoid the life of selfishness.
2. Consider the feelings, conveniences and comforts of other people.

PRAYER: LORD, help me to be considerate. Deliver me LORD from every spirit of selfishness in Jesus’ Name.

PREACHING WITH IMPACT

SCRIPTURE: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." – Acts 1:8 (NIV)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A Christian who is in authority can more easily access a person in authority who does not know God with the message of the Gospel.

I once heard the story about Billy Graham’s crusade in London in the year of 1954. The crusade took place at the Wembley stadium in London and was filled to capacity with overflows. Wembley stadium in London sits thousands of people, yet, there were overflows. The crusade lasted for 88 days. People were meeting every night for a crusade for 88 consecutive days.

In the course of the crusade, Billy Graham was able to meet the then Prime Minister of Britain, Winston Churchill.

You see, he had access to the Prime Minister because he was an authority in the Kingdom of God. By being an authority in that realm, he was privileged to preach the Gospel to Winston Churchill. If he were an ordinary man on the street, he would not have been able to access the Prime Minister with the Gospel of Christ.

Authority, therefore, gives a person the opportunity to reach men in authority with the Gospel of Christ. A Christian who is in authority can easily access another person in authority who does not know God with the message of the Gospel. With authority, you can access everyone with the impact of the Gospel.

My counsel is, do everything you can to rise to the top in your field of endeavour. Do everything you can to be known for something.

I prophesy to you today; God will shift you to a place of authority in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: A Christian who is in authority can more easily access a person in authority who does not know God with the message of the Gospel.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind to reach the top in your career or field of endeavour.
2. Make every move to the top with the objective of spreading the gospel.

THE MYSTERY OF CHRISTMAS

 SCRIPTURE: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. – Matthew 1:21

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you access mysteries, you gain mastery

God is a God of wisdom and His wisdom is always encapsulated in mysteries. When you access the mysteries of the wisdom of God, you gain mastery over the miseries of life because mysteries equal mastery and mysteries also delete miseries of life.

Now, one of the major mysteries of the wisdom of God is the mystery of the birth of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we need to know the full implication of the mystery that brought Jesus Christ into the world, the mystery of Christmas. This will enable us to connect with the power that brought Him into this world, the power of Christmas that we celebrate today.

Now, what is the mystery surrounding the birth of Jesus?

1) The power of His birth is the power that impacted nature and creation.
When Jesus Christ was born, the star registered His birth. Children’s births are normally registered in the hospital but it was a star that registered His birth.  Star gazers saw an unusual star in the Far East and discovered that an unusual person had been born. His birth affected nature because it was registered in the celestial archive of the stars.

How then does His birth affect nature?
The first miracle He performed was a miracle that altered an order of nature chemically – the molecular structure of water became that of wine; that is, he rearranged water molecules H2O to C6H12O6.

You see, incase anything natural is trying to rebel against the purpose of God for your life, Jesus Christ can rearrange it. He is more than able to do anything. He walked on the water and after His resurrection; He walked through a locked door and appeared in the midst of His disciples. He moved contrary to nature.

Now, if the same Christ is in your life, there are some natural things that would be re-adjusted. If there is anything contrary to the purpose of God in your life, it can be re-adjusted. For example, when doctors say that you have no fallopian tubes or that you have an ovarian cyst, let them know that your generation can give birth to children regardless of any medical report. When the devil wants you to follow negative natural course of things, tell him that there is a pattern set by God that does not follow negative natural orders, and that is the pattern you will follow.

Remember this: When you access mysteries, you gain mastery.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Go through what you have just read again.
2. Identify any possible negative natural course of things in your life
3. Ask God, at the place of prayer, to reverse them.

PRAYER: O LORD, help me to see spiritual principles from Your Word and follow them in Jesus Name.

THE WORK OF FAITH IN EFFECTIVE PRAYING

SCRIPTURE: For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. – Mark 11:23

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Faith is the doorway to all possibilities at the place of prayer.

God created us for communion and intimacy with Him; hence he expects us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonian 5:17)
.
There are people who pray religiously while others pray effectively.

Now, what does it take to pray effectively?
It is by having faith in God!
In Hebrews 11:6, the Bible says, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him: for anyone who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a Rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.”

How then does faith in God enhance answers to our prayers?
a) God is pleased and moved into action when He is believed and not doubted.
b) Faith in God releases the power to uproot mountains and dismantle obstacles.
c) Faith is the doorway to all possibilities at the place of prayer.

However, faith is required to grow from one level to another in order to enhance effective praying. That is to say, faith needs to be fed in order to grow.

How then do you feed your faith?

One of the ways in which faith is fed is through Word insight! Insights from the Word of God are vital to the growth of faith. The Bible says in Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

My counsel is, feed your faith daily with insights from the Word of God in order to pray effectively.

Remember this: Faith is the doorway to all possibilities at the place of prayer.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Feed your faith daily with God’s Word
2. Make up your mind to offer faith-based prayers.

Seeds of Destiny (Daily Devotional)

Wednesday 23rd December 2015.
THE NECESSITY OF LOVE.

SCRIPTURE: If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? – 1 John 4:20

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The deeper you love God, the more you love other people.

We serve a God of love. This is why He sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins. Jesus, our Saviour, came to this world as the response of God’s love for us. That was why He preached and healed the sick through love. The Holy Spirit is also the Spirit of love.

Today, we want to consider the necessity of love to our life and relationship with God.

a) Love for God is confirmed by our love for people, especially His people (1 John 4:12, 20).
If you are a worker in church and you hate your fellow brother or sister, then your service is aimless. This is the reason many people work in the church for many years without any positive result to show for it. A pastor, for instance, is wasting his time in ministry if he does not love his members passionately.

b) Love guarantees profitability of spiritual activity.
Activity plus charity equals profitability (1 Corinthians 13:1-3). The degree of results you see from working for God is tied to the measure of love with which you work.

c) To walk with God, you must work in love (1 John 4:8, Amos 3:3).
The worst thing that can happen to anyone is to be working for God and not be able to walk with God. The deeper you love God, the more you love other people.

Remember this: The deeper you love God, the more you love other people.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Search your heart if there is any root of bitterness in your heart towards your neighbour.
2. Reconcile with anyone you are holding grudges against.

KEYS TO EFFECTIVE PRAYER

SCRIPTURE:  “…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” – James 5:16

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Guilt separates a man from the Presence of God.

Yesterday, we established the fact that doors do not open to voice but to the right keys. We also noted that even if you are the owner of a house, the doors will not respond to your voice but to the right keys.

In the same way, prayer answers to the right keys. There are keys you have to use in order to pray effectively. Prayer becomes futile and bankrupt of results when we do not pray with the right keys.

One of the keys to effective prayer is UPRIGHTNESS OF LIFE

Now, how does uprightness affects our prayer?
1.A life of uprightness opens the door to God’s presence (Psalms 24:3-5, Isaiah 33:14-16). But guilt separates a man from God’s presence (Isaiah 59:1-2).

2.Uprightness gives us boldness and audacity before God. (Proverbs 28:1). Guilt, on the other hand, is a killer of faith.

3.Uprightness of life deprives the enemy every access and basis of resistance and accusation in our lives (Zechariah 3:1-3; John 14:30).

My counsel is: check your life now; confess every hidden sin to God in order not to be denied access to His presence.

Remember this: Guilt separates a man from the Presence of God.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Avoid all forms of iniquity at all cost.
2. Avoid iniquitous associations.

PRAYER: OLORD help me to be upright in life so that I can maintain a consistent prayer life. Deliver me from every sin that easily besets me, in Jesus Name.

THE DOOR OPENER

SCRIPTURE: Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: – Matthew 7:7

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You can have access to anything and anybody if you are in authority.

It is an established fact that doors do not open to voice but to the right keys. Even if you are the owner of the house and you stand before your door and speak to it, it will not open until you use the right key.

As it is with doors, so it is with openings for supernatural resources or prosperity. One of the ways God uses to open the door to unending prosperity and supernatural resources in our lives is by placing us in the realm of authority.

You can have unhindered access to anything and anybody if you are a person in authority. When you are in authority, you can proceed where others are stranded, where others fill forms and sit down for many hours to see a top government official, you have an unhindered access without wasting time.

For example, if Bill Gates, who is an authority in information and communication technology, should visit the office of a state governor in Nigeria, even without any prior notice, the governor would not just sit and allow him to queue up like others who are waiting in line to see him. Rather, the governor would either walk out to greet him or ask his personal assistant to bring him to his office. You see, the governor would give Bill Gates unhindered access and an open door because he (Bill Gates) is a man in authority financially.

So, God places you in authority in order to give you access and open doors to anything or anyone in life.

Today, by the apostolic mantle of fire on my life, I curse anything that has held you down in the Name of Jesus. The high place is your realm from today in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: You can have access to anything and anybody if you are in authority

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind to leave where you are to where you are supposed to be.
2. Reject every form of low level existence.
3. Associate strategically and submit to anyone ahead of you for a positive impact.

MINISTERING IN LOVE – THE ACCEPTABLE FORM OF SERVICE TO GOD

SCRIPTURE: But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. – Matthew 9:36

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The acceptable service is that which is rendered in love.

It is important to note that our God is a God of love. The work He calls us to do, therefore, is the work of love. 1 John 4:8.

Again, the major driving force in the Life and Ministry of our Master Jesus Christ was the force of love (John 15:13; Matthew 14:14). Jesus preached and healed the sick by love. That is to say He was principally driven or motivated by love and compassion for people in his ministerial exploits.

Furthermore, it is worthy of note that the major assignment of the Holy Spirit is to spread or saturate love in the hearts of the saints (Romans 5:5). The Holy Spirit, therefore, is the Spirit of love (2 Timothy 2:7; Galatians 5:22).

The question is, how can we serve the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit of love when we do not love our neighbour? How can we serve the God of love with a heart that is bankrupt of love for one another? We are expected to do ministry or service in the House of God on the basis of charity (love) rather than activity.

God is calling us to serve one another in love. Prophecy may cease, vision may expire, faith may end, but love never ends. Therefore, make up your mind to love your neighbour. God only accepts the service or ministry that is done on the platform of love.

Remember this: The acceptable service is that which is rendered in love.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Ask God to help you to love your neighbour as yourself
2. Make up your mind to minister (serve God) on the platform of love and not just on activity fueled by only religious zeal.

PRAYER: O LORD, help me to love my neighbour wholeheartedly. Let love be the basis of my serving You, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

GOD IS THINKING OF YOU

SCRIPTURE: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. – Jeremiah 29:11

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Until your prayer altar is on fire, your future is not guaranteed.

It is important to note from our anchor scripture that God is continually planning for His people. The clause, “I know the thought that I think…” is in a present active sense.  The Bible did not say, “I know the thought that I thought about you…” This means that God is continually thinking about you.

It is also important to note that the thoughts of God for you are thoughts for your welfare and success. He is permanently strategizing how you can move from where you are now to the next level. So, every satanic orchestration that has been working against you shall be dismantled by the power, agenda and thoughts of God in Jesus’ Name.

How then can you benefit from the thoughts of God for your life in order to arrive at the expected end and future?
1. By living a life of prayer:
A life of prayer and communion with God is the guarantee of ending where He wants you to end. Until your prayer altar is on fire, your future is not guaranteed.

TOPIC: KEY TO PERSISTENT PRAYER

SCRIPTURE: Pray without ceasing. – 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Worship creates the atmosphere of Divine Presence

From our anchor scripture, we can see that God’s will for us is to pray on a ceaseless basis. God wants us to live a ceaseless prayer life. Hence, the instruction for us to pray without ceasing in the anchor scripture. That is to say, God wants us to pray as we breathe.

Now, what is the key that enhances a persistent prayer life?

It is worship and praying in the Spirit!

Worship creates the atmosphere of Divine presence. Anything that creates the atmosphere of Divine presence is a fuel for prayer. Whatever makes you feel the Presence of God is a fuel for prayer.

At creation, God never said a Word until the Spirit moved.Genesis 1:1-5.

There was a move of the Spirit and it was into that move He spoke. When there is a deep atmosphere of the Spirit and you pray in tongues, you can pray for up to 10 hours at a stretch and not be aware.  After a long time, you can add worship and continue in tongues. At such a time, the words you speak from your mouth are ignited by the Spirit and they will catch fire because you are speaking into the atmosphere of the Spirit. The Spirit ignites the Word and It becomes light.

Remember this: Worship creates the atmosphere of divine presence.

1. Practice midnight worship consistently

2. Pray in tongues for at least one hour daily.

Thursday 17th October 2015.
Topic: THE SECRET OF UNENDING AND ENDURING PROSPERITY.

 SCRIPTURE: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. – 3 John 1:2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be an authority in your field is to be positioned or qualified for the attraction of resources.

It is obvious from the Scripture that God delights in the prosperity of His children. In the book of Zechariah 1:17, the Bible says, “… My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad…” God is committed to the prosperity of His people.

Now, how does God proper his people?
It is by placing them in the positions of authority.  It has been confirmed that authority brings prosperity. To be an authority in your field is to be positioned or qualified for the attraction of resources. Excellence usually brings abundance, authority attracts prosperity. You cannot be outstanding in the things you do and be stranded financially or materially. It is not possible!

Some of the highest paid people in this world are people who are stars in their fields. Imagine the amount of money they pay star footballers. Professionals like consultants who are experts in their fields of endeavour earn massive financial benefits. Some would consult for just one hour for a hundred thousand dollars or more. They are able to earn that much because they are outstanding in their field by the virtue of their expertise and excellence, so, they never lack resources.

That was what happened to Joseph; he was such an outstanding man in his field and that attracted favour and prosperity into his life. Joseph, a man of authority in Egypt, was also a prosperous man.

I decree today Divine lifting in all that you do in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: To be an authority in your field is to be positioned or qualified for the attraction of resources

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Ask God for supernatural supplies.
2. Practice the principles that take one to great heights in life.

Topic: PRAYING ACCORDING TO THE WORD – A KEY TO EFFECTIVE PRAYER.

SCRIPTURE: And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: – 1 John 5:14

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The secret of praying with result is praying according to God’s Word.

One of the major secrets of praying with result is praying in accordance with the Word of God. God does not hear your prayers on the ground of the volume of your tears but on the basis of His Word. God expects us to pray according to His Word if He must hear and answer us.

For example, if you go to God in prayer asking Him for a husband, do not go empty-handed; locate a Word from Scripture with which you can validate your request. You can approach God with His Words from scripture like, “Male and female created he them…” Genesis 5:2. And when you pray, tell God, “I’m female, where is my male?” This is the kind of prayer that moves God.

When you are looking for the fruit of the womb or a promotion in your office, look for a relevant Word and turn to God. The truth is, a lawyer does not win cases in court except he makes correct references to relevant portions of applicable laws to validate his argument.

In the same manner, when you come before the Judge of the Supreme Court of eternity and the Comptroller General of the universe, and say, ‘Father, on the basis of Your Word in the Bible, I am going to have my child. I am meant to be in my husband’s house. So, I present this Word to You and I will step in there now. Thank You Father for hearing and answering me in Jesus’ Name’.

This is the secret of result-oriented prayers.

Remember this: The secret of praying with result is praying according to God’s Word.

VALUED OR VALUELESS?

SCRIPTURE: Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. – Hebrews 12:16

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: People of value are destined for greatness in life.

Values have been defined as the accepted codes, principles or standards of behaviour of a person or a group of persons.

People of positive values are destined for greatness in life. On the other hand, the lack of positive values is the reason for mediocrity in life and destiny. The Bible clearly differentiated men and women of value from men and women without values and principles of life.

Now, what are the examples of people from these two different categories of human beings in the Scripture?

1. Cain and Abel:
What differentiated Cain from Abel was value. Abel had a great sense of value for God; he would not take any of the animals in his flock until he had given God the first and the best. But as for Cain, anything could go for God. No wonder, they ended differently on the ground of value.

2. Jacob and Esau:
The difference between Jacob and Esau was their sense of value. Jacob was future minded; he knew that there was a great destiny in the lineage of Abraham but Esau saw nothing, he was a valueless nonentity that ended up in uselessness and mediocrity.

3. Ruth and Orpah:
Value differentiated Ruth and Orpah.  Ruth was ready to maintain her relationship with Naomi till the end. But Orpah on the other hand saw no future in her relationship with Naomi. She terminated the relationship and the time she parted ways with Naomi was also the end of her relevance in life and destiny. This was because she lacked values!

Remember this: People of value are destined for greatness in life.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind to belong to the category of men and women of value.
2. Take a close study of people with great sense of value like Abel, Jacob, Ruth, etc., and follow the steps they took.

AUTHORITY – THE KEY TO ATTRACTING THE FAVOUR OF GOD

SCRIPTURE: And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight. – 1 Samuel 16:22

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you are an authority in your field, you do not struggle to be favoured.

It is established that favour moves in the direction of authority. When authority is in place, the favour of God cannot be denied.

Considering the life of David, it is easy to see the link between authority and favour. David was an authority in the realm of song writing and music ministration. His mastery of that realm made him to have effortless access (favour) to the palace of King Saul. The king looked for him. You see, when you are an authority, when you excel and stand out, what other people look for looks for you.

A star mechanic does not struggle to get customers. An efficient medical doctor does not struggle to get patients. A top-ranking and renowned lawyer does not struggle for clients; in fact, the challenge would be either he is over busy or over booked. Such a professional will often have to reschedule his appointments with clients and may even have to maintain a long list of appointments. That is how it is with people who are authorities in their fields.

If you are an authority in your field, you do not struggle to be favoured; in fact, favour becomes natural and from this favour, you can proceed to achieve other things that you need to achieve in your life.

I prophesy to you today, the grace to be an authority, the grace to excel, the grace to rise to the top is released on you in the name of Jesus Christ.

Remember this: If you are an authority in your field, you do not struggle to be favoured.

2. Keep doing it consistently and diligently despite distraction.
3. Have the mentality of maintaining diligence and excellence regardless of monetary reward.

KEYS TO PERSONAL RESTORATION

SCRIPTURE: For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after. – Jeremiah 30:17

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Where there is no choice, there is no chance

Restoration can be defined as the recovery of that which was lost or stolen, the repair of that which was damaged or diseased. It also refers to the release of withheld rewards and dues. Restoration can also be seen as the renewal or renovation of that which must be returned to its original state or place.

The meaning of this is that if God causes a restoration in your life, there will be a recovery of that which was lost or stolen in your life. If there is any damaged or diseased area in life, it will be repaired. Restoration can also bring about the release of any reward or benefit of your past labour that was withheld from you.

What then are the keys to restoration?
1. Personal decision (Luke 15:17-18).
Nothing makes a way like a will. When you make up your mind to rise, how to move will be discovered. Where there is no choice, there is no chance.

2. Scriptural light (Luke 15:8).
If anything is missing in your life, just turn on the light from the scripture

3. Prophetic impact (Hosea 12:13).
The impact of a prophet is critical to the restoration of the people.
By the prophetic and apostolic mantle of fire and vengeance on my life, I decree the recovery of every lost or stolen thing in your life in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Where there is no choice, there is no chance.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind to pursue the restoration of every lost thing in your life.
2. Locate relevant light from scriptures that will help in restoring your life.

AUTHORITY AND THE FAVOUR OF GOD

SCRIPTURE: ‘And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.’ – Genesis 41:39-43

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Disfavour exists where mediocrity rules.

It has been confirmed that authority attracts favour into the life of a person. A man or woman in authority is effortlessly a candidate for unusual flow of favour. I believe you must have heard the popular saying, “Success has many friends and many fathers but failure is an orphan.” The meaning of that is, people will like to identify with the man or woman who is successful, excellent and outstanding in life. But if a person is a failure, then his life is grounded as people will hardly like to identify with a failure.

Authority provokes favour. Joseph for instance was an authority in dream interpretation and that authority gave him favour with Pharaoh and took him to the palace. He obtained favour and got to the palace because he was an authority in the realm – dream interpretation.
On the other hand, disfavour exists where mediocrity rules. When a man lives a life of mediocrity, he cannot escape disfavour. You see, when people live average lives, they are disqualified from favour. When people are not outstanding in any way or live a life devoid of excellence, they attract disfavour into their lives. When people are not in the front and are not pressing to be outstanding in life, they cannot escape disfavour. That will not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Disfavour exists where mediocrity rules.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Attack every form of disfavour in your life.
2. Make up your mind to excel in all that you do in order to attract favour.

WORD REVELATION: KEY TO EFFECTIVE PRAYING

SCRIPTURE: Take with you words and turn to the Lord. Say unto Him, take away all iniquity and receive us graciously, so will we render the calves of our lips’. – Hosea 14:2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A wordless prayer is a worthless prayer

The Word of God is a vital tool that enhances effectiveness in prayer. According to our anchor scripture, the revelation of God’s word is a major key to effective praying. To pray effectively, locate insights from God’s Word and turn to God in the place of prayer. In other words, if there is no word, there can be no turning to God in prayer.

The fact is that the Lord is not going to respond to you on the basis of sentiments but on the basis of His Word. The Word of God is the solid ground for intercession, supplication and request. When Jesus was walking on water, Peter said, “If You are the one Master, ask me to come,” and when Jesus said, “Come!” Peter stepped on that Word and did not sink on the water. Some people said that Peter walked on water; in a sense, they are correct. But Peter actually walked on the word “COME” that was laid on the water. The Word landed on the water, so it was the Word that held him not the water.

In Daniel 9:2, Daniel understood by books the number of years that the people of Judah should spend in captivity. In verse 3 of the same Scripture, he decided to fast on that basis. He said, ‘I set my face onto the Lord, having understood from the book of Jeremiah that Judah was to be in captivity for 70 years.’ You see, he took that word and presented it before God.
A wordless prayer, therefore, is a worthless prayer.

Remember this: A wordless prayer is a worthless prayer

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Search the scripture to locate relevant lights
2. Turn to God in the place of prayer with lights from God’s Word.

THE IMPACT OF POSITIVE VALUES

SCRIPTURE: But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. – Daniel 1:8 (NIV)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There are many celebrities who ended up as nonentities because of growing without values.

It has been confirmed that value is one of the things that make great men. The difference between the great and the less is their values for life and living.
Values, therefore, can be defined as the code of behavior, principles and standards set to be followed by a person or group of persons. Every great man has practices and principles he follows to be great. Therefore, to follow the values, principles and practices of the great is to become great.

Now, what is the impact of positive values?
Value determines voice and audience.
In the territory where you are, if you have a high positive moral standard which has positively affected your life and the lives of others, it will command the attention and audience of people. When it is discernible that someone is not useless, such a person will command audience. When people can discern, for instance, that you are a quality preacher or a man of strong positive value, an audience is effortlessly commanded around you. This is the key to affecting your generation.

On the other hand, if a person gathers audience and lacks value, such gathering will only fizzle out with time. When the congregation discovers that the pastor is a liar; that is the end of that gathering. There are many celebrities who ended up as nonentities because of growing without values.
You will not crash out of life like that in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: There are many celebrities who ended up as nonentities because of growing without value.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Develop a positive character for a positive destiny

STEPPING UP TO BE HEARD

SCRIPTURE: Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. – Matthew 5:14

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: No one underrates the words of the man who is on top.

It has been established that one key to making perpetual impact and being relevant in life is stepping up. For instance, if someone who is standing on the roof top of a big storey building and another one who is standing on the ground floor of the same building decide to shout at the top of their voices, which of these two persons’ voice can be easily heard?  Definitely, the person on the rooftop will be heard faster than the person on the ground floor.

That is how it is in life. If you are in a position of authority or God places you on top in your career or field of endeavour, your voice can be easily heard. If you display unusual expertise and excellence in everything you do, then you are a voice that must be heard.

When you come to a point of becoming a generational commander, role model, an opinion leader, a pacesetter or a front liner, you cannot be silenced; nobody can look at you and ignore what you have to say. Nobody will take your words for granted. The fact is, no one underrates the words of the man who is on top.

One reason authority gives voice and influence is that it breaks down prejudice, racisms, sexisms or favouritisms.

Beloved, you are stepping into a position of authority and influence today in the Name of Jesus.

Remember this: No one underrates the words of the man who is on top.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1.Develop yourself to be on top in life
2.Be diligent in the works of your hands.

THE SECRETS OF RESTORATION

SCRIPTURE: And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. – Joel 2:25

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Restoration is the recovery of that which was lost or stolen.

We serve a God of restoration. The scripture is filled with stories of restoration. Elijah was used by God to restore to life the dead child of the widow of Zarephath. Namaan, the Syrian Army General who became leprous was restored to good health by Elisha. You see, God specializes in the restoration of His people.

What then is restoration?
1. Restoration is the recovery of that which was lost or stolen.
2. It is the repair of that which was damaged or diseased.
3. Restoration is the release of withheld rewards, benefits and dues.
4. Restoration is the renewal or renovation of that which must be returned to its original state or place.
5. Restoration is the reinstatement of people to their former glory or position
6. Restoration refers to the realization of purpose and destiny.

What then is the secret of restoration?
1.Desperate pursuit.
2.Vibrant and aggressive spirit
3.Divine direction
4.Faith release by the release of substance.

I prophesy on you today the recovery of that which was lost in your life, the repair of that which was damaged or diseased, the release of withheld rewards and dues, the renewal or renovation of that which must be returned to its original position in your life, your reinstatement to your former glory or position and the realization of your purpose and destiny in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Restoration is the recovery of that which was lost or stolen.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1.Identify any stolen item, virtue or grace in your life
2.Ask God for total restoration.

THE ESSENCE OF CULTIVATING A POSITIVE VALUE SYSTEM

SCRIPTURE: God had told Abram, "Leave your own country behind you, and your own people, and go to the land I will guide you to. If you do, I will cause you to become the father of a great nation; I will bless you and make your name famous, and you will be a blessing to many others. – Genesis 12:1-2 (TLB)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your value system determines your worth in life and destiny.

It has been proven that one’s value system determines one’s destiny in life. No one can be greater in life beyond the values of their lives. Your value system also determines your worth in life and destiny.

You see, there are people who have rendered themselves useless, without any sense of regard for anyone because of their lack of value system. So, the value you live by determines your value rating and worth as a person.

Again, a person’s sense of value determines the strength of their voice. That is why people without good sense of value are people without voice. For instance, no one wants to hear the moral counsel of a prostitute or interested in the advice of an armed robber. People without values are people without voice.

So, the strength of your value is directly proportional to the strength of your voice. For example, Pastor E. A. Adeboye does not shout, but even when he talks, his conversational tone appears stronger than the shout of many preachers because of his positive and strong personal value system. Some people may shout to cover up the lack of substance in their utterances.

Please note: It is not in shouting that voice is heard, it is not in the attempt to sound like another preacher that your voice is heard, rather, it is in values.

Therefore, make up your mind to develop a positive value system.

Remember this: Your sense of value determines your worth in life and destiny.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind to be upright in all you do.
2. Prioritize intimacy with God above every other thing in life.

BECOMING A VOICE IN YOUR GENERATION

SCRIPTURE: If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. – Colossians 3:1-2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot be voiceless in impact if you are in authority.

It has been established that God dwells on high and His will is that His children should not dwell the low places of the earth. This is why our anchor Scripture admonishes us to set our affections on the things that are on high and not on the things that are below.

God wants us to be in authority anywhere we are found on earth.

Now, why does God wants us to be in authority?

Authority gives audience.
Authority gives both voice and audience. Matthew 8:9.

God places us in authority in order to give us audience among our contemporaries.
For example, a football star who does not know God may be driving along the street and people rush just to catch a glimpse of him, take his photograph or get an autograph from him. They may not even care what the man has to write; all they want is his autograph. If such a star were to be a Christian and a leader; he will become a great voice and force to reckon with in his generation. He will make great impact for the Kingdom of God in his generation.

So, the reason God gives authority to every godly person who is outstanding in his field of endeavour is to give him audience and opportunity to speak as God’s ambassador in his generation.

I prophesy on you today, anything that will keep you in the low places of life is cursed in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: You cannot be voiceless in impact if you are in authority.

SCRIPTURE: And the Lord said unto her, two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger. – Genesis 25:23

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your sense of value determines the weight of your destiny. .

Sometime ago, a bishop came to our church for a meeting and in that meeting was another man of God who indicated interest in seeing the bishop after the meeting. He told him that he attended the same Bible School with the Bishop and they were even in the same class. He also told him how the Bishop was passionate for God while they were in the Bible school. Today, the difference between the Bishop and many of his classmates is like heaven and earth.

Now, what could be responsible for such drastic difference between the Bishop and his classmates?
The simple answer is value for God and persistent pursuit of life’s vision!

I also read a story of Wesley and Lesley Brown, the twin babies who were abandoned by their mother in an uncompleted building and were picked up and raised by another woman. Later in life, Lesley became a motivational speaker and counselor to presidents in the United States of America at the frequency of value, while Wesley became a drunkard for lack of value in life.

You see, the difference between two people is in their values. Your sense of value determines the weight of your destiny.

Remember this: Your sense of value determines the weight of your destiny.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind to cultivate life enhancing values.
2. Live daily by strong values.

PRAYER: Help me O LORD, to be a person of strong value. Give me the grace to abide by the principles of Your Word for the transformation of my life, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

THE BENEFITS OF WORKING TOOLS

SCRIPTURE: And there shalt thou build an altar unto the Lord thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them. – Deuteronomy 27:5

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Where there are tools, there are proofs.

Yesterday, we examined the essence of working tools and we saw that the right tool reduces sweat, toil and stress. It was also established that using the right tool is the secret of ease and speed in life.
Today, we want to examine more benefits of using the right tool in order to work effectively.

What then are the benefits of tools?
1. Tools assist precision and excellence.
When a person has the right tools at his disposal, there is precision and excellence in his work. For example, a thermometer can give an accurate measurement of someone’s body temperature compared to using bare hands to feel someone’s body temperature.

2. A tool facilitates the realization of goals and visions.
Tools assist in actualising goals, accomplishing tasks and fulfilling visions.

3. Tools enhance positive results and outcomes.
Tools can be used to facilitate positive results and outcomes.

4. Tools assist proofs; where there are tools, there are proofs.

I prophesy speed in your work as you use the right tools from today; I prophesy a deeper intimacy with God as you pray with the right tools in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: where there are tools, there are proofs.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Ask God for precision and excellence in the work of your hands.

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask for precision and excellence in the works of my hands, in Jesus’ Name.

THE ESSENCE OF WORKING TOOLS

SCRIPTURE: And there shalt thou build an altar unto the LORD thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them. – Deuteronomy 27:5

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Whenever you have the right tools, you reduce sweat, toil and stress.

It is important to know that one of the attributes of great men is diligence (Proverb 22:29). Therefore, in order to work effectively, every diligent worker needs a tool to carry out his work.

Now, the question is, what is a tool?

A tool as a device that aids someone to accomplish a task. It is something in your possession that helps you achieve a particular purpose. A tool, therefore, is a means to an end, and not an end in itself.

There are various tools in life. A medical doctor has a sphygmomanometer which he uses to measure blood pressure, a stethoscope for listening to heart sounds. A tailor uses a measuring tape, scissors, needle, thread, etc. A technician uses spanners, screwdrivers, chisels and other tools.

Now, what are the benefits of tools?
1. Tools reduce stress, sweat and toil. Whenever you have the right tools, you reduce sweat, toil and stress. This means that if you can locate the proper tools to pray (worship, word revelation and faith expectation), prayer will be without stress, sweat and toil.

2. Tools establish ease and speed. Work becomes faster with tools. If you locate the correct tool in business, career or in the work of ministry, it establishes you in the realm of ease and speed.

My counsel is, locate the right tool in order to reduce your stress, sweat and toil. As you work with the right tool, I prophesy ease and speed in your life in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Whenever you have the right tools, you reduce sweat, toil and stress.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Ask God to show you the right tool for your work
2. Make demands for the Grace of God to use the tools effectively.

PRAYER: Open my eyes O LORD, to see the right tool for effective service. Help my life to be productive, in Jesus’ Name.

THE PROFIT OF AUTHORITY

SCRIPTURE: For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. – Matthew 8:9

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There is a limit to which your impact and influence can be felt if you lack authority.

Our God is a God of authority, influence and power Who desires that we should be like Him. This is why He created us in His Image. One critical design or attribute of man as created by God is authority.

Now, why does God want us to be in authority?

Authority Brings Influence.

God puts His children in authority in order to give them influence in their generation. The truth, it is possible to be generationally influential by the frequency of authority. Examples of people who influenced their generations through the power of authority abound in the Scripture. Joseph influenced and impacted the whole of Egypt positively by being in authority. Daniel impacted and influenced the whole of Babylon positively and spiritually by being in authority. Queen Esther influenced the whole of the Persian Empire positively and spiritually because she was in authority.

One thing that God passionately wants to do is to place His children in positions of authority over families, states, territories, regions, organizations, institutions and nations so that those entities can be maximally and positively influenced for God.

Beloved, there is a limit to which your impact and influence can be felt if you lack authority. Authority makes you stand out in life.

Beloved, I decree today that you are stepping into the realm of authority in life, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: there is a limit to which your impact and your influence can be felt if you lack authority.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Ask God to lift you up to a position of authority in your field.
2. Make up your mind to do all the necessarily educational or vocational trainings that will catapult you to prominence in life.
3. Be committed to service; take your work seriously.

THE DISTINGUISHING FACTOR IN DESTINY

SCRIPTURE: And the Lord said unto her, two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.  – Genesis 25:23

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What distinguishes people in life are values and principles.

For a very long time, I have wondered why people end differently in life even when they start at the same level.  Two persons may start in life as friends, play together, and school together, but at the end of their lives, everything becomes different. You may begin to wonder what must have gone wrong. At times among school mates or class mates, someone who used to be ahead academically may become different all of a sudden and end up with negative outcomes and results in life.

I noticed the same trend among Christian brethren: two persons may answer the altar call at the same time, grow up together in the faith, get filled with the Holy spirit at the same time, go through the same Bible School together but they end up differently in life. Now, what could be responsible for this?

I have discovered that what distinguishes people in life and destiny is values and principles. This refers to how we think, what we do, why we do what we do, etc.

Values also refer to what we consider the most important thing in life. Our sense of values is the driving force behind our actions in life. They are the set of standards in our lives that set us apart from others.

Therefore, if you want to end up positively different from others, cultivate a strong value system for life. This is what distinguishes two people in life.

Remember this: What distinguishes people in life are values and principles

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Carefully study the lives of people of values and outstanding results to discover the secrets behind their making.
2. Practice these values in order to be valued in life

PRAYER: O LORD, I repent from a life without values. Give me strong values and principles for living in Jesus’ Name.

KEY TO FRUITFUL LIVING

SCRIPTURE: And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction. – Genesis 41:52

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Until you let go of what is behind, you cannot lay hold of what is ahead.

The will of God for His children is to be fruitful in all things. To be fruitful means bearing fruit especially in abundance.
What then is the key to fruitfulness? It is forgiveness! Nothing thrives around the man who does not forgive the offences of others.
Joseph named his first son, Manasseh which means ‘I forget’. (Genesis 41:51). He also named his second son Ephraim which means ‘fruitful’. Joseph was fruitful in his lifetime and made generational impacts that could not be erased because he forgave and forgot the wickedness of his brothers against him. He also forgave Potiphar’s wife for laying false accusation against him. He may have also forgiven Potiphar for not investigating the lies of his wife before throwing him into the prison. Joseph forgave everyone who offended him.

Where forgiveness is lacking, fruitfulness is not in view. If you have imprisoned somebody in your heart, God cannot answer your prayer. Release people who have offended you. Until you let go of what is behind, you cannot lay hold of what is ahead.

A loveless life will produce a loveless prayer and a loveless prayer is a lifeless and fruitless prayer. If you cannot forgive people in your heart, your prayer cannot be answered. A loveless prayer is a useless prayer. If you hold people in your heart and you pray to God to change your life, it will not work. Praying with bitterness is praying in frustration. The result is fruitlessness. If you want to secure God’s attention, endeavour to forgive.

Remember this: Until you let go of what is behind, you cannot lay hold of what is ahead.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind never to allow your heart to be a breeding ground for people’s offences.
2. Don’t be a source of offence to anyone.

THE TRAGEDY OF INGRATITUDE

SCRIPTURE: And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. – Luke 17:17–19

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Until you know the language of appreciation, you will remain a victim of frustration.

Prayer, an act of communing with God, must secure the attention of God in order to be answered. Such prayer must be ‘clothed’ with thanksgiving. God examines how you handle the last miracle that occurred in your life. His expectation from you is to return the praise to Him. This determines whether or not you will experience the next one. There are many grumblers but few ‘thanksgivers’. Ingratitude makes a man remember God in the times of problems but forget Him in prosperity.

Now, why must we avoid the tragedy of ingratitude?

1. Ingratitude blinds our eyes to God’s work in our lives: Jesus once healed ten lepers but only one of them returned to appreciate God for the healing; the other nine were ungrateful servants. You see, this is the proportion of the grateful to the ungrateful Christians in the Church today; out of every ten persons God does something for in the Church, only one usually returns to give glory to God. This is the spirit of ingratitude. Ingratitude made the nine lepers not to see what God did for them. If you cannot notice what He has done for you, you will never see what He will do. Ingratitude blocks our eyes from seeing the good works of God in our lives.

2. Ingratitude is the doorway to frustration: Association without appreciation is frustration. Until you know the language of appreciation, you remain a victim of frustration in your relationships.

Remember this: We were not created to give God order but created to give God worship.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Always return praise to God for everything He does for you like that grateful leper.
2. Employ all the avenues of worship that you know to praise and honour God.

A LIFE OF VALUE

SCRIPTURE: ‘For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich’ – 2 Corinthians 8:9.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your value in life is determined by the value you add to other people’s lives.

A life of real value is not about what you can get but what you can give. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Master came to give. He gave until He gave His life. No wonder He is the most celebrated and valued personality to ever walk on the sands of time and eternity.

Your value in life is determined by the value you add to other people’s lives. When you enhance other people’s value, you enhance your own value. You will never feel valueless in life as long as you are helping other people to have value. You become your best in life when you are in the business of bringing out the best in the lives of others. Your joy and excitement level moves to higher levels when people begin to attribute their rise, worth, value and joy in life to your input and impact in their lives.

So, many people are trying to make a living until they forget to live their lives. Someone once said, ‘You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give.’ It is important to know that quality of life (contributing to humanity, adding value, bringing out the best in people and showing people direction) is superior to standard of living (the personal comfort of life). Some people have high living standard (many cars, money, etc.) but a low quality of life (no joy, no peace, nobody being enhanced etc.) What a misery! Please, live a life of value and quality!

Remember this: your value in life is determined by the value you add to other people’s lives.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Determine to be more conscious of the quality of your life than your standard of living.
2. Be actively involved in the spiritual and material welfare of others.

THE ESSENCE OF CHRISTIANITY

SCRIPTURE: “…And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch” – Acts 11:26b

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your character should be able to convict sinners of their compromise; your integrity ought to suffocate their iniquity.

Christianity is a lifestyle and it is rooted in the person and teachings of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
That is why the followers of Christ are called Christians; meaning, Christ-like or little Christ.

Now, attending Church alone is not a proof of Christianity. Miracles, breakthroughs, signs and wonders are not the essence of Christianity. Of what use is a miracle or breakthrough with an untransformed character that will end the person in the same hell with prostitutes, ritual killers, robbers etc.?

Beloved, what then is the essence of Christianity?
The major essence of Christianity is Change and the transformation of life into the nature of Christ. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
The implication of this is, as a Christian each time people look at you they are meant to be reminded of Christ. For unbelievers to feel comfortable committing sin in your presence is an evidence of the absence of the nature of Christ. Your Character should be able to convict sinners of their compromise; your integrity ought to suffocate their iniquity.

That is the real essence of Christianity!

Beloved, the greatest tragedy that can befall a person is thinking to be serving God while their old nature (character) is still intact. That qualifies them for eternity in hell fire. That shall not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

I charge you to wake up to an authentic and genuine Christianity – reflecting the nature and character of Christ in words and in conduct.

That is the essence of Christianity!

Remember this: Your character should be able to convict sinners of their compromise; your integrity ought to suffocate their iniquity.

1. Deliberately let go of any character in you that does not depict the nature of Christ.
2. Decide to be a mobile message or Gospel to unbelievers

HINDRANCE TO EFFECTIVE PRAYER

SCRIPTURE: And when you stand praying, forgive if you have ought against any that your father which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses but if you do not forgive neither will your father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. – Mark 11:25-26.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: “Unforgiveness” is one of the worst attacks on spirituality

From our anchor scripture, we understand that forgiveness is necessary for the effectiveness of prayer. In other words, your prayer is useless until you forgive and get rid of offences. Unforgiveness is one of the worst attacks on spirituality. The bait of offence is what the enemy uses to destroy the prayer life of God’s people.
The truth is, whenever the devil does not know what to do about you, he will send people to offend you. One man who repented from the occult confessed that whenever they wanted to destroy Christians and did not know how to handle them, they would send people to annoy them and through annoyance, they could easily access their lives.

If you want to have access to God in the place of prayer, you must deal completely with the spirit of unforgiveness.

Now, what does it mean to forgive?
1.  It means to give up resentment. For instance, you were resentful and angry but decided to give it up. Forgiveness means ceasing to feel resentful.

2. It means to cease from bitterness and grudges. That is to say, “I was bitter before, I was angry with you before, but now I have stopped being bitter and bearing grudges.”

3. It means to excuse the fault of others. This is a situation where someone says, “Okay, I assume he must have been under pressure that was why he acted like that,” and that settles it.

4. It means to write it off. As in writing off a debt, you can write off the obligation of others by virtue of their offences towards you.

Remember this: Unforgiveness is one of the worst attacks on spirituality.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Check your life if you are embittered against anyone.
2. Release anyone you are holding in bitterness or “unforgiveness” in your heart.

SPIRITUAL PROTOCOLS FOR SPIRITUAL RESULTS

SCRIPTURE: But be sure that everything is done properly and in order. – 1 Corinthians 14:40(NLT).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Whenever you follow spiritual protocols, you encounter physical miracles.

God is a God of order and protocol. Whenever you see people get results that you do not seem to have in your own life, it is possible that they know something you do not know or must have followed Divine protocols for getting results. Life is practical and not mystical. This means that for every effect, there is a cause; for every outcome, there is an input, and for every result, there is an effort.

In the physical realm, there are protocols to observe in order to become a great personality. In the realm of the spirit also, there are prayer protocols in place to meet the King of kings. Whenever you follow spiritual protocols, you encounter physical miracles. However, when you ignore spiritual protocols, you end as a physical ridicule.

There are Key protocols to follow in order to pray correctly. It is never enough to know how to pray; it is important to know how to pray with the right keys. It is not enough to know how to knock on the doors of heaven, it is important to knock with the right keys. If you are the owner of a house, until the right keys are in your hands, the doors can never be opened.

From today, God will open your eyes to see Divine order of achieving results in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Whenever you follow spiritual protocols, you encounter physical miracles.

2. Apply those principles in your life daily.

THE PROFIT OF KNOWING GOD

SCRIPTURE: If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand O king, But if not, be it known unto them, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, not worship the golden image which thou hast set up. – Daniel 3:17-18

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Trust is the birth place of prayer

Knowing that God is real is fuel for effective prayer. A man who knows that God is real takes prayer seriously. Every form of knowledge in life emanates from the knowledge of God. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were too aware of who God was to the point that they were ready to die in the midst of the fire. According to today’s anchor scripture, they told the king that God would save them. They knew God to be One who saves in days of calamity. That fuelled their prayers and audacity in life.

Daniel was thrown into the den of lions because he refused to stop praying when everyone was commanded to stop praying. He refused to bow to their threat to stop praying because he knew God. He knew God to the point that he was ready to die praying instead of living without praying. This was the reason he opened his windows towards Jerusalem and began to pray even when he knew that the decree to stop praying had been signed (Daniel 6:10). The knowledge of God is the birth place of trust in God. We cannot trust God if we do not know God. Trust is the birth place of prayer. Get to know God more and you will get more answers to prayer.

Remember this: Trust is the birth place of prayer

THE TRAGEDY OF BOTTLED OFFENCE

SCRIPTURE: Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice. – Ephesians 4:31

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You do not have a future with God if your past is not sorted out with men.

Many people spend much time in prayer but see little or no result. This is because prayer must be prayed according to Divine order if it must receive Divine answer.
One of the things that make prayer a religious routine without any meaningful and ‘impactful’ result is the lack of forgiveness or a heart bottled up with offences. If you want God to hear you or change your life and destiny, you must forgive anyone who has wronged you. The world is full of offences; anyone who has not been offended is not alive. If the devil wants to attack your destiny and he cannot give you beer to drink, he will send offences your way because he knows that the embittered man is going to the same hell that the drunkard and the fornicator are going. The future can never be accessed until the past is released. You do not have a future with God if your past is not sorted out with men.

Therefore, forgive the person you raised that wants to erase you. Many people thought that they have forgiven their neighbour but when they see the person or hear their names mentioned bitterness rises in their hearts. This is a sign that they have not yet forgiven that person. A robber on the cross was forgiven on the spot because God is a forgiving God. But human beings are different.

Make up your mind to be like God in whose image you were created.

Remember this: You do not have a future with God if your past is not sorted out with men.

INIQUITY: THE SUREST WAY TO DESTRUCTION

SCRIPTURE: That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?  – Job 20:5

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What you cannot destroy will not spare you.

God hates every form of sin, but wilful sins or hypocrisies are about the worst kinds of sin. That was why Jesus was very hard on the Scribes and Pharisees while treating repented prostitutes and tax collectors with dignity (Matthew 23:25).

You see, you cannot come to Church, put up an appearance of service unto God and then go into the world and dine with the devil and his agents. That would invite the wrath of God. I once knew a young man who was attending a certain Church, participated in a 14-day prayer and fasting programme while actively living in immorality, even in those days of fasting. What a tragedy! Such a lifestyle ends in destruction and wastage. It is an extreme provocation of the wrath of God.
The fact is, what you do not kill can kill you. What you do not give up will cause you to go down in life. What you cannot destroy will not spare you. To reject righteousness is to accept backwardness. That lifestyle you cannot stop might stop you in life. I counsel that you be open and sincere before God. Do not hide anything from Him. Understand that He knows and sees everything. Let Him know that you are guilty, that you feel guilty and want to be helped. The next thing to do is to take every physical step necessary to get away from unrighteousness. With sufficient and consistent practice, you will soon begin to triumph, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: What you cannot destroy will not spare you.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Avoid all forms of iniquity at all cost.
