THE POWER OF HUMILITY

SCRIPTURE: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. – 2 Chronicles 7:14

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Humility is the doorway to true greatness and authority in life

A major virtue in the life of any child of God is humility. Humility is moderate or modest existence. It is the exaltation of, and alignment of God’s Will with one’s life. It is the focus and attention on inward qualities rather than outward vanities. A humble person is open to instruction and correction and easily submits with excitement.

What then is the power of humility?
1. Humility guarantees the privilege of Divine attention and answer to prayers. God will never turn a deaf ear on the humble.
2. Humility is the doorway to honour and dignity. It is existing with a difference in the midst of adversity.
3. Humility is the doorway to true greatness and authority in life.
4. Humility is the gateway to insight and revelation. The humbler you get, the deeper you see revelations and insight of the Word.

You can attain humility by doing the following:

a. Existing in His Presence
The Presence of God reveals the nothingness of man. A life of prayer, worship and communion keeps you with God and suffocates every form of pride and arrogance.

b. The maintenance of the correct mentality
This is living with the consciousness of the fact that you can do nothing without God.

Remember this: Humility is the doorway to true greatness and authority in life.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Ask God to baptize you with the Spirit of humility.
2. Always treat others the way you would want them to treat you.

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask that You baptize me with the Spirit of humility. Grant me the grace to be humble, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.
