THE SECRET OF POWER

SCRIPTURE: And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. – 1 Kings 17:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you want to manifest power that will shake your generation, hang around God.

In life, the importance of power cannot be overemphasized. Power is needed for survival, victory and impact.

The Presence of God is the depot of power. To spend time in God’s Presence, therefore, is to contact spiritual power. You do not have to hang around God if you do not want power just as you do not stay around the kitchen if you don’t want the aroma of food. This is because the Almighty is the One in Whom might is concentrated.

If you want to manifest power that will shake your generation, hang around God. You know, when you put a needle or pin in the magnetic field of a magnet, it acquires some magnetic properties such that it can magnetize other smaller metals.

Similarly, if you put a man in the magnetic field of the Presence of the Almighty God, the man will acquire some Divine magnetic capacity.

Beloved, make up your mind not to walk without the Presence of God in your life.  Hang around the Presence of God and you will manifest His power.

Remember this: If you want to manifest power that will shake your generation, hang around God.

THE DANGER OF UNFAITHFULNESS

SCRIPTURE: My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. – Numbers 12:7

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Taking what does not belong to you closes your door of breakthrough and blessing

My mother once told me a story: In the ancient times, when a young lady was about to get married, they may subject her to a series of tests to prove her faithfulness; they would send her on a visit to her fiancé’s family house. The fiancé may scatter money under his bed and would ask her to sweep the house. In the course of sweeping the house, if she thought that the man forgot the money and decided to steal it, they would send a message to the father of the girl: "Your daughter is a thief; she is not marriageable."

There are many people today who have closed the door of their future because of one illegal money they took. When Adam took and ate the forbidden fruit, he lost the whole garden.

Beloved, a large amount of money is waiting for you. Do not close the door of your destiny with the small amount that you are tempted to take illegally.

Therefore, taking what does not belong to you closes your door of breakthrough and blessing. That will not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: HOW TO RECEIVE FROM GOD.

SCRIPTURE: Lift up now thine eyes, and look… For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever. Genesis 13:14-15.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What you cannot see, God cannot give.

From the scripture above, God told Abraham that He would give him that which his eyes could see.

So, the secret of receiving from God is seeing what to receive. What you cannot see, God cannot give. What is not clear to you, is not there for you; what you do not see coming to you may never come. What does not cross your mind is not permitted to cross your life; what you do not picture, you cannot capture.

No wonder Bishop David Oyedepo once said, “I am not surprised at our current level in ministry, rather, I would have been surprised if we are not where we are presently.” This is because before they reached their present level as a Ministry, he had pictured it ahead of time.

Also, Fredrick Price said, “we have not succeeded by accident” That is, they did not succeed by chance but by vision. So, vision is pertinent to making a lasting impact in one’s generation.

Therefore, you must picture yourself impacting your generation, changing your world positively and making a mark that cannot be erased in order to see it fulfilled.

DIVINE PRESERVATION BY PRAYER

SCRIPTURE: O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? – Daniel 6:20

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Occupants of the secret place of the Most High can never become victims of the adversary.

We serve the God that preserves His children from the plots of the devil. A typical example of this was Daniel. In his days as first Vice President of the Babylonian empire, a decree was made out of envy that anyone who prayed would be cast into the lions’ den. Daniel despised the decree and continued praying and so they cast him into the lions’ den. But God preserved him.

When the king saw that the lion could not destroy Daniel because of the mystery of Divine preservation, he sent and pulled Daniel out of the den. Meanwhile, all those who had accused Daniel before the king and their families were bundled and cast into the lions’ den. And before they could reach the bottom of the pit, the lions over-powered them and broke their bones. Beware what you do, for it may affect your children.

Now, what rescued Daniel? It was the power of prayer.

Occupants of the secret place of the Most High can never become victims of the adversary.

From today, I decree that you are preserved. No demon can bury you in Jesus’ Name.

VISION FOR GENERATIONAL IMPACT

SCRIPTURE: Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. – Matthew 5:14.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Vision is the secret of the future.

Our anchor scripture clearly reveals God’s purpose for our lives as children of God; it is to be illuminators of our generation. That is, we are to exist to impact our generations for God.

How can we exist to impact our generation for God?
It is to cultivate vision for generational impact

Vision is a mental picture of a preferred future. Vision for generational impact is the brutal decision that your generation must feel your presence and notice your absence. That is, it is ensuring that anywhere you find yourself per time – be it your family, office, community, city or nation, you will add value and worth to the lives of people.

Vision is also the secret of the future. God told Abraham in Genesis 13:14-15; “…Lift up now thine eyes, and look… For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever.”

Beloved, you cannot impact your generation if you cannot see like Abraham.

I prophesy the opening of your eyes to see the vision of God’s purpose for your life in Jesus’ Name.

THE SECRET OF SUPERNATURAL POWER

SCRIPTURE: Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. – James 5: 17

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The place of prayer is the place of power.

The power of God is essential for every child of God to achieve anything for God on earth. This is why our LORD Jesus says in Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”. To be without power, therefore, is to be defeated in life.

What is the secret of supernatural power?
Prayer!
The place of prayer is the place of power. In Acts 3, as Peter and John were going to the temple at the hour of prayer, they met a crippled beggar at the gate and they manifested the power of God. The crippled beggar was consequently healed and began to walk.

You see, on their way to the place of prayer, they manifested the power of God. The hour of prayer, therefore, is the hour of power!

Association with the Almighty God at the place of prayer is the assimilation of His Might and Power.

Beloved, make prayer your most priority in life.

THE SECRET OF ABRAHAM.

SCRIPTURE: And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.  – James 2:23

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Analysis of Divine instruction leads to the paralysis of destiny.

Abraham was an enviable patriarch in scripture that God identified with. He walked with and was so intimate with God that he was called the friend of God (James 2:23).

One notable secret of Abraham was dedication. Dedication to God gave Abraham the place he found himself in life. In Genesis 12:2-3, God told Abraham to come out of his father’s house and he obeyed.

Obedience is the key to eminence in life. Obedience to God makes one prominent and relevant in life. Show me an obedient man and I will show you a prominent and eminent man

Abraham obeyed God’s instruction to pray without ceasing. In Genesis 19:27, Abraham would always get up early in the morning to stand before God at the place of prayer. That was why in his generation, nobody was bigger than him.

Our God is not a Respecter of persons but a Respecter of His principles. Abraham obeyed the principles of God and he became great in life. His name cannot be erased from history forever.

Beloved, determine to be like Abraham. Do not analyze Divine instructions because analysis of Divine instruction leads to the paralysis of destiny. Repent from every attitude of disobedience to Divine instructions.

LIVING A FAITHFUL AND TRUSTWORTHY LIFE

SCRIPTURE: And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat.  – Genesis 39:6

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you cannot be trusted, you cannot be entrusted

From our anchor scripture, we can see a virtue in the life of Joseph which is worthy of emulation by every child of God. It is called faithfulness. Potiphar left everything in Joseph's care and nothing was lost.

God's intention for our lives is to bring us to the point of reliability where people's hearts will be at rest because we are in charge. As a child of God, the heart of your boss should be at rest because you are the one to oversee things in your organization.
When you are entrusted with a financial responsibility, let there be no story of anything missing. If you cannot be trusted, you cannot be entrusted. Do not let a question mark hang around you when you are given money to execute an assignment. The attitude of unfaithfulness has denied many people the possibility and potential of rising to the top positions in life.  

Faithfulness is the secret of the blessing. In Proverbs 28:20, the Bible says, “A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.”

Beloved, make up your mind to be trustworthy.

Remember this: If you cannot be trusted, you cannot be entrusted.

2. Repent from every act of crookedness and double-dealings in your life

THE GOD-FIRST MENTALITY – A SECRET OF GENERATIONAL IMPACT

SCRIPTURE: And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper. – 2 Chronicles 26:5.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your devotion to God determines your duration in life.

Connection to God is the secret of relevance and impact in life. It is a man’s donation to God that makes him relevant in life. Your devotion to God determines your duration in life; your reverence of God is key to your becoming a reference in life.

What then is the secret of making generational Impact?

The God-first mentality
The God-first mentality is the mentality that makes God the number one priority of one’s existence.

Being interested in the interests of God attracts Blessings from God for generational impact.

In 2 Chronicles 27:6, the Bible says, So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God.

In Matthew 6:33, the Bible also says, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

The God-first mentality is the mentality that places Kingdom priority ahead of personal priorities. So, when God sees a person who is more passionate about the Kingdom of God than his or her personal pursuit, He baptizes such a person with the potentials to impact his or her generation.

Remember this: Your devotion to God determines your duration in life.

1. Make up your mind to dedicate your life to God totally.
2. Develop the God-first mentality.

THE CONNECTION BETWEEN PRAYER AND WISDOM

SCRIPTURE: In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. – 1 Kings 3:5

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: In prayer, the mind of man becomes saturated with the thought of God.

There is a connection between prayer and wisdom. For instance, Solomon asked God for wisdom in prayer and his desire was granted.

Now, how do you connect wisdom at the place of prayer?

While you are praying in the spirit and communing with God, there is an intercourse and exchange of mind between you and God. Prayer creates the avenue of exchanging your thoughts with that of God. The thought of God received at the place of prayer is called wisdom. When you share your feelings with Him, He also shares His feelings with you. When you share your emotions with Him, He also shares His emotions with you. When you share your plans with Him, He also shares His plans with you.

At the place of prayer, the mind of man becomes saturated with the thought of God, especially when the man is praying with focus and without distraction.

Beloved, my counsel is, do not let anything distract you at the place of prayer. When you pray, take your pen and paper with you. Focus on a subject, and as you pray, write down the thoughts that come to you.

Remember this: In prayer, the mind of man becomes saturated with the thought of God.

1. Ask God for the impartation of the spirit of wisdom like Solomon did.
2. Read and carry out divine instructions from God’s Word.

THE SECRET OF HIGH FLIERS

SCRIPTURE: And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God…the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail…” – Deuteronomy 28:1, 13.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you put God first in life, you must get ahead in life.

Our anchor scripture clearly x-rays the mind of God for our placement in life. God’s purpose for us is to be the head and not the tail, above only and never beneath.

So, what do we need to do in order to be the head?

It is being dedicated to God and His purpose.
I would like you to take note of the following key thoughts about dedication to God.

a) Dedication to God is the doorway to distinction in life.
It is not possible to be dedicated to God and not be distinguished in life.

b) Intimacy with God is key to authority in life.
Show me a man who is close to God and I will show you a man of authority.

ACCESSING THE TRUE PICTURE OF YOUR LIFE

SCRIPTURE: You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book! – Psalm 139:16 (TLB)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: As you pray, you will begin to see yourself the way He sees you.

It is established from the Scripture that life originates from God.
God has the blueprint for everyone on earth. Before you were born, God saw and knew you (Jeremiah 1:5).

Living life to the fullest, therefore, entails asking God who knows every detail of your life.

Maybe, you usually see yourself as a defeated, frustrated or inconsequential person; but at the place of prayer, if you pray with your whole heart, with genuineness and intensity, God will begin to show you the way He sees you.

You might have seen yourself as a medical doctor, but God sees you as a world impacting Minister of the Gospel who is destined to affect the world with His Word. THE BLESSING OF THE WORD

SCRIPTURE: And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me. – Ezekiel 2:2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be in touch with God’s Word is to be successful in life.

It has been confirmed that the Word of God is key to the blessing of man. When you obey God’s Word, you will end up being blessed in life. So, the secret of meaningful result on earth is to locate God’s Word and do it. Every Word of God has a work to do. To see what to do out of the Word is to be blessed by it.

One way in which the Word of God blesses the people of God is by the impartation of the life of God (John 6:63). The process of revelation is the process of transformation of life.

What then are the contents of the life of God?

a) Success:
I want you to know that the life of God is a successful life; you cannot be connected to God and be a failure in life. To be in touch with God’s Word is to be successful in life.

b) Productivity:

BECOMING AN ASSET FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD

SCRIPTURE: And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field. – Genesis 39:5-6

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Living to be a concern is the reason for many tragedies in the lives of people.

God’s original reason for our creation is for us to be a blessing and not a burden; an asset and not a concern. His intention for our existence is that anywhere we are found, we should contribute positively to the benefit of the people in our generation.

Why is it important for us to know this? It is because attitude determines altitude in life; mentality is the secret of exploit in life.

Therefore, anywhere you find yourself, refuse to be a burden or a concern. Living to be a concern is the reason for many tragedies in the lives of people.

What, then, does it mean to be an asset to your generation?

It is to be a difference-maker; a change agent. It is living in such a way that your arrival in a place announces change. Live in a way to make a difference anywhere you are found. Let there be a positive shift in everything because you are found in a place. When you live like this, the top position is your place in life. That was how Joseph lived.

You shall be a blessing to your generation in Jesus’ Name.

MAXIMIZING YOUR GOD-GIVEN POTENTIALS

SCRIPTURE: A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. – Proverbs 18:16

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your destiny is to be in charge of your organization.

Every child of God is created and loaded with great potentials. God deposited these potentials in our lives as the ladder to climb to the top. Therefore, you are not fulfilling God’s purpose if you are not fully maximizing your God-given potentials.

Your destiny is to be in charge of your organization. For example, if you are a professor in the university, becoming the Vice- Chancellor is your destiny. If you are a business tycoon, becoming a billionaire employer of labour or an industrialist is your position or realm of life.

So, God wants us to excel and be in positions of authority like Daniel in order to influence systems from the top. It is easier for the superior to influence the subordinate than for the subordinate to influence the superior.  It is easier for a boss to tell his driver, "follow me to church" than the driver to influence the boss.

God wants you to connect the wisdom of excellence in order to get to the top position and influence your world for the Kingdom of God.

GREAT MEN OF INDELIBLE IMPACT

THE SECRET OF DIVINE DIRECTION

SCRIPTURE: I will instruct you (says the Lord) and guide you along the best pathway for your life; I will advise you and watch your progress. – Psalm 32:8 (TLB)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A man’s destiny is as strong as his sense of direction.

Divine direction is very important in fulfilling the purpose of God for one’s life. There is a path God has already designed for each of His children to follow in life, according to our anchor scripture. That path must be identified in order to be followed.
How, then, do we understand God’s direction for our lives?

Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

Prayer is necessary to receiving direction in life. A man’s destiny is as strong as his sense of direction. To spend quality time in prayer is to receive unmistakable direction in life and destiny. Psalm 37:23 says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.”

Beloved, prayer makes it easy for God to order your steps in the right direction in life.
When your life is surrendered at the altar of prayer, then your steps can be ordered by God.

When you pray, God begins to direct your steps. Prayer makes you sensitive in the spirit.

THE DOORWAY TO VISION AND PURPOSE

SCRIPTURE: I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. – Habakkuk 2:1.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: At the place of prayer, man is enabled to see his life from the perspective of God.

The vision of God’s purpose for one’s life is crucial in achieving greatness in life. Many people live aimless lives not because God did not have a purpose for their lives, but because they were unable to discover what they were created for.

How does one discover one’s purpose in life?

 It can be deduced from our anchor Scripture that the 'watchtower' spoken about by the Prophet Habakkuk is the place of prayer.  So, it was at the place of prayer that God told the prophet Habakkuk to, “Write the vision…”

Now, prayer is a necessity because it is the doorway to fulfilling your vision and purpose in life. By vision, I am not referring to trances, dreams or any such revelations in a state of sleep. I am referring to the act of God showing you His purpose and vision for your life – that is, your life’s assignment.

At the place of prayer, man is enabled to see his life from the perspective of God. At the place of prayer, God will enable you to begin to see yourself the way He sees you.

ACCEPTING THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE TOP POSITION IN LIFE

SCRIPTURE: If you will only listen and obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, he will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall always have the upper hand. – Deuteronomy 28:13 (TLB)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There can be no reach without a stretch.

It has been confirmed that God created us for the top positions and places in life (Matthew 5:14-16).

However, in order to get there, there are conditions we must fulfil. This is because there are no spiritual provisions without human conditions. God makes the provisions and man fulfils the conditions. So, even when God has done His part, until man does his part, the situation remains unchanged.

Many children of God are not in authority because they have refused to take responsibility. There is no possibility without responsibility. There is no flight without a fight. When God plays His role, man must play his part. For example, your father can pay your school fees but he cannot study and graduate with a First Class Degree for you.  That is why God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo once said that life is a product of personal adventure.

Many Christians are down instead of being up; living like paupers when God has made them to exist as princes because they failed to realise the fact that there can be no reach without stretch. To reach there, you must stretch there. There can be no mark without a move.

DESIGNED FOR LANDMARK EXPLOITS

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Throughout history, the children of God have always set the pace for the world to follow.

God’s design for His children is to make landmark exploits on earth; His purpose is to bring us to the point where we do things that have never been done before in our generation and in the history of the world at large.

A typical example of this kingdom landmark exploit is the construction of the Lord’s Garden Auditorium (Dunamis permanent site) that is under construction which the LORD is building for Himself. I am yet to know the number of church structures worldwide that are of that size. The Gallery alone measures twenty thousand square metres; which is the equivalence of two hectares. And twenty thousand square metres of space can accommodate a minimum of forty thousand people. So, imagine only the gallery of the auditorium accommodating forty thousand people! Humongous!

It is God’s plan for His children to carry out humongous projects to His Glory. Throughout history, the children of God have always set the pace for the world to follow.

It may amaze you to know that ninety nine percent of the notable historic scientists we have ever heard of or read about were directly connected to God.

INVOLVING GOD THROUGH PRAYER

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Prayer is very important when starting a venture in life.

In our world today, many people do many things without involving God. They embark on serious life decisions; the decision to start a business, ministry or marry someone without prayer or Divine involvement. That is the pathway to disaster.

Before I stepped into ministry, I had to seek the Face of God in prayer and fasting. Also, when I wanted to get married, I prayed to know the person and also prayed to know the date of the wedding.

Prayer is very important when starting a venture in life.

For instance, when you are about to begin a marriage process, you need to pray, “Lord, I do not want to go into this marriage by myself, I invite You to go with me into this marriage.” In the same manner, when you are about to start a new business, you have to pray: “O God, I do not want to start this business all by myself, I want You in it.” In each instance, you invoke the Presence of God.

Beloved, through prayer you connect your marriage and business with His Presence. Therefore, pray before you embark on any venture in life.

Remember this: Prayer is very important when starting a venture in life.

THE REASON FOR LIVING

SCRIPTURE: You are the world's light – a city on a hill, glowing in the night for all to see.  – Matthew 5:14 (TLB).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: One of the duties of the child of God is to show the world how to work.

The Bible is filled with the revelation of God’s purpose for our existence on the earth. Anyone who does not know how to study God's Word diligently is yet to know why he is alive.

Our anchor Scripture clearly defines the reason God created you. We understand that you exist as a light-bearer and a road-pointer for the ungodly in your generation.

One of the duties of the child of God is to show the world how to work. We are to show the people of the world how to be employers and employees because we are the light of the world and a city set on the hill which cannot be hid.

We are expected to show the world how to serve; we are expected to be pace-setters and not pace-keepers.

The challenge is that many children of God are being colonized by their unbelieving colleagues. This is not proper!

People should see a Daniel and know what faithfulness at duty means. They should see a Joseph and know what it means to be a servant of God in the work place. In the same manner, people should see you and learn a positive principle from your life.

Remember this: one of the duties of the child of God is to show the world how to work.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind to be a pace-setter in your generation by the way you behave.
2. Shun every attitude and act of mediocrity in your life.

THE PRICE FOR GREATNESS

SCRIPTURE: And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: – Ephesians 2:6.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There is no flight without a fight

From our anchor scripture, the Bible makes it clear that the heavenly place is our place and position by the covenant.

Therefore, the low places of the earth are not where we are meant to be. Mediocrity is not God’s purpose for the child of God.

The question is; why is it that many children of God are not on the top positions of life?

The simple answer is, there is no flight without a fight. For instance, before an aircraft can take off, it engages in a fight; it fights the wind, gravity and its weight in order to take off.

God’s servant, Bishop Oyedepo once said that there is no rise without a price. If you want to be at the top position in life, there is a price to get there. I have discovered that nothing can be possessed until it is pursued.

Many children of God are not ready to pay the price for greatness; this is why even though they are destined to be great, they still remain in the low positions of life.

There are no spiritual provisions without human conditions.

Beloved, make up your mind to pay the price in order to be great in life.

PRAYING TO CONNECT GOD’S PRESENCE

SCRIPTURE: Come near to God, and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners! Purify your hearts, you hypocrites! – James 4:8-9 (GNT)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To take life seriously is to take prayer zealously.

The importance of prayer in making a mark for God cannot be overemphasized. To take life seriously is to take prayer zealously. You can identify a person who is not serious with life by his lackadaisical attitude towards God and prayer.

One significant essence of prayer is that it establishes the atmosphere of God’s Presence around a man’s life.

God’s Presence is needed to achieve every quantifiable progress in life.

Prayer connects a man's spirit with the Spirit of God. When the spirit of man becomes united with the Spirit of God in the place of prayer, an atmosphere is created, and that atmosphere is called the Presence of God or the atmosphere of His presence.

And this atmosphere is needed for the fulfilment of your destiny and the success of anything you deem important in your life.

Beloved, treasure your relationship with God above everything in life. Make up your mind to be like Job who would not eat his necessary food until he had studied God’s Word (Job 23:12). Do not go through life as a nonentity. Determine to matter in life by taking your prayer life seriously.

TAKING YOUR PLACE AT THE TOP

SCRIPTURE: Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places. – Ephesians 1:20

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: As a follower of Jesus, what cannot be said of Jesus must not be said of you.

It is confirmed from our anchor scripture that Jesus is seated in the heavenly places. He is the Head and the church is His body.  This means that if He is seated in the heavenly places, we are also seated with Him. It is not possible for the Head to be up and the body is down.

In Hebrews 12:2, the Bible admonishes us to look unto Jesus Christ because He is the pattern Son. Where you find Jesus is where you are expected to be. As a follower of Jesus Christ, what cannot be said of Him must not be said of you. He is the Author and the Finisher of our faith.

Beloved, you are a part of Jesus Christ (if you are a born again child of God). God has made you for the top and not the bottom. The low places of life are not your portion on earth.

Therefore, take your place at the top position. Reject every form of mediocrity. Deal with every character and habit that will limit you in life. Cultivate the vision of Jesus and you will fly in fulfilling God’s purpose.

IMPACTING YOUR GENERATION FOR GOD

SCRIPTURE: Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. –  Matthew 5:14

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Excellence is an answer to prejudice and excellence also tackles religiosity

The children of God are designed and destined by God to be illuminators of their generation. That is, you are created to exist as a light bearer, a road pointer, an eye opener, a front liner, a change agent, a history maker and a world shaker in your generation.

In order to impact your generation for God, you must carry the light that dissipates darkness; you must show people the right path to follow.

As a child of God, the world is meant to be discipled by your character, results and impact.

Recently, I went to the construction site of our on-going church building and one of the site engineers told me of someone who was not a Christian that visited the site.  The visitor wanted the engineer to execute a project for him but the engineer told him that he was busy.

The interesting thing is, the engineer said that the man was utterly amazed at the sight of the humongous constructions and exclaimed, “So, this kind of construction is possible!” He had not repented, but when he saw excellence at the site, he was moved despite his religion.

The truth is, excellence is an answer to prejudice and excellence also tackles religiosity.

SECRETS OF IMPACTFUL LIVING

SCRIPTURE: This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise. - Isaiah 43:21.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A deep encounter with God will make your life count on earth.

There is a reason God created you and the only reason you are living is to fulfil the purpose of God for your life.

Today, I would like to give you three secrets of impactful and purposeful living:

a) Waiting in God’s Presence:
Waiting in God’s Presence involves having communion with God. Every time you embark on prayer and fasting, the physical hunger activates spiritual hunger and makes a person do the right thing.

b) Studying the Exploits of Bible Characters:
In order to be impactful in life, take notice of biblical exploits done by exemplary characters. Reading the exploits of people like Elijah who raised the dead, Joshua who commanded the sun and the moon to stand still, and the shadow of Peter that healed the sick, will automatically spark a fire in your spirit.

c) Deep Divine Encounters:
A deep encounter with God will make your life count on earth. Paul encountered God on his way to Damascus and his life changed.

God shall give you a life-changing encounter in Jesus’ Name.

THE NECESSITY OF WORKPLACE AND CAREER WISDOM

SCRIPTURE: Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. – Ecclesiastes 9:10.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You exist as a representative of the Kingdom in character, conduct and action at the work place.

God is the God of wisdom; He is the ALL-WISE GOD (Jude 1:25). He created and deposited in us His nature of wisdom.

Therefore, there is a need to understand the different dimensions of God’s Wisdom in order to function maximally on earth.

One of the areas we need to learn God’s Wisdom is in your career and at your workplace.

Why do we need wisdom to be successful in the work place?
You exist as a representative of the Kingdom in character, conduct and action at the work place.

The Bible says that you are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). Being the light of the world as a Christian implies that everybody is watching what you do. That is why anytime you misbehave by coming late to work, someone may say “He comes late to work, yet he calls himself a Christian”.

As a Christian, you represent the King of kings in character, conduct, action and output or performance at the workplace.

Therefore, your responsibility is to ensure that you are not a reproach or a burden to God in the eyes of your employer or contemporaries by your character, conduct and performance of duty.

Remember this: You exist as a representative of the Kingdom in character, conduct and action at the work place.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER

SCRIPTURE: Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. – James 5:17.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Prayer fills a person’s life with the Presence of God.

Prayer, the flow of communication between man and God proceeding from a healthy and lively relationship, is vital in the life of every child of God; it is a basic requirement if one must stand to fulfil God’s purpose for one’s life.

Prayer is much more than asking and receiving from God.

There are many reasons prayer is necessary besides casting our cares and worries upon God.

We shall consider one important necessity of prayer:
Prayer connects man with God’s Presence.
Prayer is a basic necessity because it establishes a contact between man and God. It fills a person’s life with the Presence of God. In Exodus 33:15, Moses said, “If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.” What Moses was saying in essence is: “I have seen all manner of wonders but I need Your Presence. If Your Presence does not go with us, there is no need to move us from here.”

This tangible, palpable and feelable Presence of God is connected by prayer.

Therefore, endeavour to give yourself to the life of prayer in order to connect God’s presence.  Make communion with God a necessity in your life.

Remember this: Prayer fills a person’s life with the Presence of God.

THE DOMINION MANDATE

SCRIPTURE: ‘And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God… that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth’ – Deuteronomy 28:1.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: We are mandated by God to be on top and to take the lead.

Our anchor scripture reveals that the top position in every sphere of life is the place for God’s people. Whenever God places people, He places them on the top positions and places of the earth.

In Genesis 1:27-28, we understand that God created man with a mandate; it is the mandate of subduing the earth and exercising dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air and every living thing that moves upon the earth.

The ‘MOST HIGH’ is used in reference to God (Psalm 91:1). So, the children of the Most High God cannot occupy the ‘most low’ places of life. Just as an elephant is not permitted to birth an antelope and a lion is not permitted to birth a rat, the MOST HIGH God does not give birth to ‘most low’ children.

So, dominion, authority, “rulership”, leadership is a mandate and not an advice. The Bible did not say, ‘… and God advised them…’ No! Rather, God said, ‘…be fruitful and…have dominion…’ it is a command and a mandate. Therefore, we are mandated by God to take charge; we are mandated by God to be on top and to take the lead.

Remember this: We are mandated by God to be on top and to take the lead.

1. Reject the life of mediocrity.
2. Ask God to lift you in your career.
