THE BENEFITS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

SCRIPTURE: For thou Lord will bless the righteous; with favour will thou compass him about as with a shield – Psalms 5:12

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you don’t know the benefits of righteousness, it is easy to toil with compromise.

Righteousness is living right or abstaining from every form of defilement. There are benefits in righteousness. There is a reward for the righteous, both in this world and in the world to come. When you don’t know the benefits of righteousness, it is easy to toil with compromise. This is because what is not appreciated is never apprehended.

Righteousness is beyond escaping hell and making heaven. Making heaven is the ultimate reward at the end of being righteous. Meanwhile, before you reach heaven, there are benefits righteousness offers you on earth.

Now, what are the benefits of righteousness?
1. Divine Favour: Psalms 5:12 says, “For thou Lord will bless the righteous; with favour will thou compass him about as with a shield.” So, Divine favour is the exclusive preserve of the righteous. To be righteous is to be favoured.

2. Boldness of Heart and Authority. Proverbs 28:1 says, “The wicked flee when no man pursues but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” Boldness! Boldness of heart and authority is the natural realm of the righteous. Righteousness imparts audacity, authority and boldness.

3. Divine supply: Psalms 47:25 confirms it: “I have been young and now am old yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging for bread.” You are not meant to live like a miserable, pitiable, beggarly, and hungry person begging to survive if you are righteous. Divine supply is the portion of the righteous.

Remember this: When you don’t know the benefits of righteousness, it is easy to toil with compromise.

1. Avoid every relationship that makes you compromise the righteous standard of God.
2. Trust God to overcome temptations in your daily life.

FOUNDATION FOR THE BLESSING COVENANT

SCRIPTURE: But seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you – Matthew 6:33

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Our spiritual input determines our physical outcome.

The blessing covenant gives rise to the Unction for supernatural supply.  God is interested in blessing His children. The first man he created was not left without a blessing. He also blessed Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and several others in Scriptures. That was why they became generational reference points.

The question is: why is it that some people are practical evidence of God’s blessing while others exist as though God is partial? I have realized that our spiritual input determines our physical outcome. If we relate with God like Abraham and other blessing carriers, we must end how they ended.

There are certain virtues and practices that provoke the covenant blessing. They serve as foundations for the covenant blessing. We are going to consider one of those foundations as found in the life of Job.

It is called A HEART FOR GOD.

The Bible says Job was an upright man, one that feared God and eschewed evil. What about his results? He was the greatest of all the men of the East (Job 1:3). He was a man of heavy substance. He literally overwhelmed the land because his substance increased across the land (Job 1:10). Finally, Job was also a man of influence and audience (Job 29:21 -23); he spoke and men listened. Thus, Job became the greatest man in his generation on the platform of a heart for God.

Receive the impartation of a heart for God! You shall not be small in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Our spiritual input determines our physical outcome.

1. Make up your mind to align your life with kingdom practices.
2. Ask God for grace to increase your love for Him.

HOW TO ACCESS SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH

SCRIPTURE: Even the youth shall faint and be weary and the young men shall utterly fall but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagle; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk; and not faint. – Isaiah 40:30-31

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The more of God you know, the stronger you get in the spirit.

It has been established that strength is needed to fulfil one’s purpose in life. That is why we were not created by God to be weak and sick. Our God who created us in His image and likeness is a powerful God. Thus, we are expected to function like Him; and if we are to function like God, we must not lack strength.

How then does one access supernatural strength to fulfil God’s purpose in life?
Supernatural strength can be accessed through the following:

1. The knowledge of God: Daniel 11:32 says, “… but the people that do know their God they shall be strong and do exploits.” This means, the knowledge of God is a sponsor of strength; it’s a fuel for strength. The more of God you know, the stronger you get in the spirit. Knowledge generally brings strength. Proverbs 24:5 confirms this when it says, “A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.” The prayer of a man who wants to increase in supernatural strength should be: “Lord, cause me to know You.”

2. The Joy of the Lord or the Light of Praise: The joy of the Lord shall be your strength (Nehemiah 8:10b). A life of praise supplies strength. That is to say, depression deprives people of strength. A depressed person sleeps tired and wakes tired. Depression causes a person to loose spiritual energy. The joy of the Lord is a secret of strength.

Remember this: The more of God you know, the stronger you get in the spirit.

2. Endeavour to embark on praise, worship and study of the Word daily to draw strength from His Presence.

THE IMPORTANCE OF SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH

SCRIPTURE: He giveth power to the faith, and to them that have no might he increaseth strength - Isaiah 40:29.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Collapsing in battle is a sign of bankruptcy of strength.

It has been confirmed that strength is needed to birth purpose. It takes strength (especially, spiritual strength) to fulfil purpose and realise one’s destiny.

However, there is a secret behind the acquisition and manifestation of strength – be it physical or spiritual strength. When you see a man who is forceful or tough in the spirit, there is a secret.
Our God who is “The Strength of Israel” is a powerful God (1 Samuel 15:29).  So, to company with Him is to acquire spiritual or supernatural strength.

Now, what is the importance of supernatural strength to a life or destiny?

1. Strength Determines Victory in Battles: Psalms 18:39 says: “for thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou has subdued under me those that rose up against me.” Strength, therefore, determines victory in battles. Proverbs 24:10 says that if you faint in the day of adversity your strength is small. That is, to collapse in battle is a sign of bankruptcy of strength.

2. Strength Determines Exploits and Impact in Life: The reason we do not have the same level of exploit in life is that we do not have the same degree of strength in the realm of the spirit. So, you need more strength to see more results.

Beloved, you need supernatural strength to fulfil your purpose and destiny on earth; and I see that strength come on you today, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Collapsing in battle is a sign of bankruptcy of strength.

THE IMPACT OF VISION

SCRIPTURE: Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:  – Genesis 12:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Those who see clearer run faster.

Vision is a clear definition of life’s destination. It is the picture of a preferred future. Without a clear definition of destination, stagnation is inevitable. That is why vision is important in the journey of life. It is vision that determines what direction your life is heading, as a business man, as a pastor or as a career person.

What then are the impacts of vision?

1. Vision is the Fuel for Motion: Motion is never possible without vision. This is the point: if you do not know where to go, you cannot leave where you are. That is why the absence of vision equals the abundance of stagnation.

2. Vision is the Fuel for Enthusiasm: Vision drives life. Life without a bearing equals burden. Life without vision equals frustration; life without vision equals time without meaning.

3. Vision is key to a Life of Focus: People of vision have a lot of focus. Matthew 6:22 says, “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.” Vision gives you the reason you are alive to do the things you do. That is why a life without vision can be easily buried in distraction.

4. Vision is a Secret of Speed: Those who see clearer run faster. If your life is going to be faster than it is now, then your vision must be very clear to you.

What a loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I mourn the death of a friend and brother who I met 20 years ago at St James Wisdom Foundation Nursery and Primary School where we both completed our primary school education. It is indeed a great loss especially to his mum and siblings.  Who would have thought today I will be writing this for someone who was full of life just last week. The death of a young person most times stops us in our paths and helps us understand that we do not hold tomorrow. James 4:13-14 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.…

As a young man, he had lots of plans which sadly will not see the light of day as he is no more. All the dreams of getting married, giving birth and all have been quenched. What dreams do you have as a person? What destiny are you fulfilling and how many lives have you impacted here on earth? May death not meet us unprepared for the life after. Beyond all the dreams and plans is the destiny you where created to fulfill, are you fulfilling that dream? One of the most terrible things is living a purposeless life on earth and dyeing with all your potentials unused. 

We that are alive still have the opportunity of ensuring we are making the right decisions and choices. 2 Cor 6: 2 For He says, “At the acceptable time I listened to you, and on the day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is the acceptable time, behold now is the day of salvation. Let us use this opportunity to examine our lives, 2 Corinthians 13:5-6 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?  Am I a true Christian, or am I a counterfeit? Have I been born again, or am I only putting up a front? Those of us who are Christians ought to ask ourselves that occasionally. The fact that we don’t know when our journey on earth will end should make us to daily and regularly check ourselves. Always live with rapture in mind and always ask yourself if whatever it is you want to do worth spending eternity in hell.

Thank God for the hope of eternal life we have in Christ 1 Cor 15:20 and if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world. Till we meet to part no more in the bosom of our Lord, continue to rest in peace my brother Arinze Adirika. You came, you saw and you conquered. THE PRODUCTS OF DIVINE PRESENCE

SCRIPTURE: And he said, my presence shall go with thee and I will give thee rest. And he said unto him (that is Moses) if thy presence go not with me carry us not hence up – Exodus 33:14

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The most valuable asset of man on earth is the Presence of God

The most valuable asset or treasure of man on earth is not money, fleet of cars or houses; it is the Presence of God. The Presence of God is the most valuable asset of man under heaven. The highest thing that can be said of anyone on earth is that God is with them. If God is present, it does not matter who is absent, life is complete.

Now, what are the products of God’s Presence in the life of a person?
1. Supernatural rest and peace (Exodus 33:14). The Presence of God is the guarantee for rest and peace. That is why the heavier His Presence in your life, the deeper your rest.

2. High favour: In Luke 1:28, the angel of the LORD met Mary and told her that she was highly favoured because the LORD was with her. So, the Presence of God is the fragrance of favour.

3. Supernatural openings: In Psalm 114:1, the Scripture says that, when Israel came out of Egypt, the sea fled and the mountains skipped at the sight of the Presence of God that went with them. That is to say, the Presence of God creates openings where they never existed.

4. Existence in distinction: The Presence of God makes a person exist in distinction. There is something different about you when you have the Presence of God in your life.

Beloved, I see you shift to the top by the fragrance of God’s Presence, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: The most valuable asset of man on earth is the Presence of God.

THE NECESSITY OF INTIMACY WITH YOUR MAKER

SCRIPTURE: And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle. – Exodus 33:11

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Intimacy with God is contact with power for vision fulfilment.

The man of God, Myles Munroe, once said, “When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable.” In the same way, when one does not know the importance of maintaining intimacy with God, they will abuse it.  Just like a pilot must remain in touch with the control tower for a successful flight and safe landing, you must remain in touch with the One who sent you into this world for a safe landing in life.

You also need to remain in touch with God in order to connect power for the fulfilment of your vision for living. Intimacy with God is contact with power for vision fulfilment. God has a purpose for creating you; you need power from Him to bring it to pass.

The Bible says in Psalms 29:4, “The voice of God is powerful, the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.” In Genesis 12:1, God told Abraham to get out of his country and his kindred to a land that He would show him. Initially, God did not show Abraham the land; it was as he maintained intimacy with God that he located the land that God promised him. The fact is: God gives details per time; He doesn’t give details at once.  So, you need to maintain a permanent connection with God to avoid regrettable errors in your journey of destiny.

Remember this: Intimacy with God is contact with power for vision fulfilment.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Ask God for the grace to perpetually remain in touch with Him.
2. Maintain a regular prayer schedule for Divine direction.

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR TIME

SCRIPTURE: “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” – Ephesians 5:16

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Time is a servant that is calculated to make outstanding masters of life.

Among the precious gifts of God to humankind is time. Time is given to serve man; it is to help man achieve his purpose. Time is a servant that is calculated to make men outstanding masters of life. Time is a servant meant to be directed, employed, engaged or assigned. The wastage of life and destiny is the outcome when time is unemployed. Life is a burden, existence is a misery where time is not directed.

Maximally utilise your time, do not lose time. Do not permit time to pass without progress being made. To complain that there is no time means that a lot of time wastage is going on. There is time to do anything you want to do in life if you really mean business. All you need to do is to allocate time to purpose or agenda.

Determine what must be done and determine when (day, week, month or year) it must be done. You do not really want to do anything until you have determined when to do it. Those who make the most of time make their mark in life. They achieve more in one month than some achieve in an entire life time. William Carey was one of such men. As a Missionary to India, he translated the Bible into forty-three Indian dialects within eight years.
My counsel is, maximize your time!

Remember this: Time is a servant that is calculated to make men outstanding masters of life.

1. Go ahead; do as the lesson teaches- allocate time to every activity.
2. Trust God not to waste time.

THE SPIRIT VERSUS THE FLESH

SCRIPTURE: “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation! The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” – Matthew 26:41

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To follow the flesh is to end up as a failure.

From our anchor Scripture, we can see that the flesh is the greatest enemy of spirituality in man. The spirit and the flesh are always in conflict for the sole purpose of gaining control over man. Note this: To yield to the flesh is to lose control over destiny, and to yield to the spirit is to gain control over destiny.

The truth is, you will never get anything done if you allow your flesh to rule your life. It was by surrendering his life to the desires of the flesh that Esau sold his birth right and lost his destiny. Understand that most of the time, what your flesh wants is contrary to both your spiritual life and destiny. So, to follow the flesh is to end up as a failure.

The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. It is crucial to know that willingness is good but it is not enough to get you to your high places in God. The Bible did not say, ‘if you are willing and complacent, you will eat the good of the land’ but ‘if you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land.’ (Isaiah 1:19). The willingness of the spirit must therefore translate into the obedience of the flesh for a solid spiritual life to be developed.

Beloved, do all you can to ensure that your flesh obeys the ‘promptings’ of your spirit.

Remember this: To follow the flesh is to end a failure.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Walk in the spirit in order not to fulfil the desires of the flesh.
2. Ensure your prayers are Word based.

HOW TO FULFIL VISION

SCRIPTURE: And the LORD answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.  – Habakkuk 2:2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is commitment to assignment that brings accomplishment.

Vision, which is a picture of a preferred future, is a necessary requirement in life if one must fulfil God’s Purpose. Many people celebrate the possession of vision but not many celebrate the realization of it. This is why we have many people living with unfulfilled or unrealized visions.

What then do you do to fulfil your God-given vision?
1. Be prayerful: It takes prayer for vision to be birthed, groomed and fulfilled.
2. Be strategic: Do not operate in confusion; be strategic.
3. Have a plan: Where people fail to plan, they have planned to fail.
4. Go to work. Do not just dream; wake up and work.
5. Have a Sense of Urgency: Be urgent in action; avoid the pathway of procrastination.
6. Be committed: Commitment is a secret of fulfilment. Give your vision a dogged commitment and brutal focus because it is commitment to assignment that brings accomplishment.
7. Be persistent in pursuit: What is not pursued cannot be possessed.
8. Be patient with God: A vision is for an appointed time. Wait for it, and it shall come to pass.
9. Maintain the right environment: Just be sure that the right people are speaking into your life.
10. Embrace consistent review: A wise man once said, “Out of sight is out of mind”. So, review your vision on a consistent basis.
11. Remain in touch with the source: Remain in touch with God, the giver of all visions.

Remember this: It is commitment to assignment that brings accomplishment.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Take time to review your vision on a consistent basis.
2. Beware of anti-destiny people; always associate with the right people.

YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS

SCRIPTURE: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” – Philippians 4:13

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your moment of change will come when you agree with God.

The Scripture confirms that God has invested so much in man that He expects him to do all things, provided those things line up with His Will (Genesis 1:28). That is why Mark 9:23 says, ‘all things are possible to him that believeth’. If you say you can, then all things are possible but if you say you cannot, certainly, you will not be able.

It does not matter how long a negative situation has persisted in your life, if you can only believe, things will turn around for good. For instance, the impotent man at the pool of Bethesda lay helplessly for thirty-eight (38) years until the moment he agreed with Jesus that he could be healed (John 5:1-9). So your moment of change will come when you agree with God that you can do all things through him.

As long as you say, ‘I have HIV, arthritis, cancer, etc.’, the situation remains. You have to see the situation as non-existent. Our Father (God) is One who ‘calleth those things that be not as though they were’ (Romans 4:17). Do you resemble your father? Then, do likewise. If you are connected to Christ, the anointed one, there is a continuous supply of anointing, ability or energy that makes you equal to every emergency.

Beloved, there is grace to tackle every challenge through Christ. So, it doesn’t matter the task or challenge you are faced with, you are equal to it through Christ.

Remember this: your moment of change will come when you agree with God.

GENERATIONAL CONSEQUENCE OF INIQUITY

SCRIPTURE: “…visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me” – Exodus 20:5b.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The consciousness of consequence imparts caution to action.

A story is told of Noah who had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. One day, Noah was drunk, and his son, Ham saw his nakedness and told his brothers, Japheth and Shem, of what he saw. His brothers walked backwards, removed their coats and covered their father’s nakedness.

When Noah woke up and knew what Ham did, he cursed Canaan (Ham’s son) and by implication, the descendants of Ham, instead of cursing only Ham directly. That is to say, “I transfer this curse to your generation.” Genesis 9:21-25.

Gehazi, the servant of Elisha, also provoked a generational curse when he greedily pursued after Naaman, the Syrian who was healed of leprosy by his master, Elisha, to collect the gifts that were rejected by his master. Now, Naaman had earlier offered the gifts to Elisha in appreciation for his healing, but Elisha rejected the offer. When Elisha the prophet knew what Gehazi did, he cursed him saying, “The leprosy of Naaman shall follow you and your generation” 2 Kings 5:19-27.

You see, it was Gehazi who sinned but the consequence came not only on him but upon his entire generation.

My counsel is, be cautious of your action today because its consequence will have a direct or indirect impact on your future generation. The consciousness of consequence imparts caution to action. So, think about the consequence of every action before doing it.

Remember this: The consciousness of consequence imparts caution to action.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Always be conscious that your actions have consequences on others.
2. Daily ask God for the grace to live right.

HYPOCRISY – THE ENEMY OF DESTINY

SCRIPTURE: “Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity” – Matthew 23:28.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: No matter how much you speak in tongues, it will yield no result in filthiness.

Hypocrisy is the act of manifesting false virtue and exaggerated lifestyle.  It is simply, a life of lies.

There are those whose work is to lie; everything about them is a lie. Regrettably, Christians are not exempted. You may even be tempted to be more comfortable doing business with unbelievers than some Christians because of their infamous records of cheating and duping fellow Christians. These are Christians with mixed genes; they are half Egyptians and half Israelites, worldly and still Churchy.

Many people are not reliable; they cannot be trusted with money. Try them with a million Naira and you will see their true colour. They will show you they have another god called mammon. Insincerity is their second name; they can forge documents and make false declaration of age in order to get a job.

No matter how much you speak in tongues, it will yield no result in filthiness. In fact, some of the tongues you speak can report you to God if spoken in filthiness. For instance, if you are speaking in tongue in a state of iniquity, you are saying, “Lord, I came to let You know that I stole yesterday. Oh you angels of protection, move from the road, I am a thief, and I don’t deserve to be protected.”

But that shall not be your portion in Jesus’ Name!

Beloved, to fulfil destiny, you must shun every hypocritical lifestyle and embrace sincerity.

Remember this: No matter how much you speak in tongues, it will yield no result in filthiness.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Consciously decide to be yourself; avoid pretence.
2. By all means, be sincere with yourself, God and people in all your dealings.

THE FUTURE OF FILTH

SCRIPTURE: Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. – Zechariah 3:3

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There is no future for the filthy; no destiny for the dirty and no prospect for the corrupt.

I heard the story of a young man, a single man who had an affair with another man’s wife. But when he went to his office the following day, he was given a sack letter.

The frightening thing is: no one in his office saw when he committed the iniquity. He did it secretly but in the realm of the spirit, an attack went forth against his destiny. When he was handed the sack letter, he exclaimed, “What did I do?” No one could explain anything to him. But the truth is, within him, he knew what was fighting his future; his immoral act.

Beloved, there is no future for the filthy; no destiny for the dirty and no prospect for the corrupt. Where iniquity is present, destinies are aborted. You cannot live in filth and fly high in life.

Today, people think they can bribe God. They get money by dubious deals and encourage themselves that once they pay tithe, God will understand. But who says God and His Church need corrupt money?  Such giving will profit the giver nothing.

The truth is, if the way you got the money was sinful, paying the tithe will only help to multiply the sin.

So, if you must have a future in time and in eternity, filth and corruption must be far from you.

Remember this: There is no future for the filthy; no destiny for the dirty and no prospect for the corrupt.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Meditate on the lesson of today.
2. Genuinely repent and turn away from filthy lifestyles that are destructive to your destiny.

HOW TO GAIN ACCESS TO GOD’S PRESENCE

SCRIPTURE: “…so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones” – 1 Thessalonians 3:13b.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you choose a life of sin, you forfeit the Presence of God.

The Presence of God is the ‘Person’ of God. The Presence of God is the embodiment of Divinity. Having access to the Presence of God equals access to God Himself. Just as it is impossible to have access to a man’s presence without accessing the man himself, it is impossible to miss the Person of God once you access His Presence. Thus, God and His Presence are intertwined, mutually related and inextricably connected.

What then does it take to access the Presence of God?

Beloved, accessing the Presence of God, as we see in our anchor Scripture above, is only possible when our lives are blameless and holy. That means holiness is a key to accessing the Presence of God. The truth is, nothing frustrates a man’s stand with God like the guilt of sin. Anything that tampers with your conscience, tampers with your access to God.

Now, between the Presence of God and a life of sin, there is only a choice. When you choose a life of sin, you forfeit the Presence of God, and when you choose the Presence of God, you sacrifice the life of sin.

My counsel is, it does not matter what you have or lack, never be bankrupt of God’s Presence. If you have the Presence of God you have everything; it is the greatest asset on earth!

Today, I prophesy to you, anything militating against your stand with God is hereby terminated, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: When you choose the life of sin, you forfeit the Presence of God.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Do away with any character that can jeopardize your stand with God.
2. Ensure that you live permanently in God’s Presence.

YOUR GARMENT AND YOUR ASSIGNMENT

SCRIPTURE: “And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel” – Zechariah: 1:1,3

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The success of your assignment is connected to the state of your garment.

 A garment can be defined as an article of clothing, a coat, a gown, etc. for outer covering or outward appearance. They are for the covering of one’s physical appearance.

Garments also have spiritual connotations. The meaning is: just as there are bodily garments, there are also spiritual garments. The condition of your spirit determines the spiritual garment you wear per time – be it a filthy garment or a holy garment.

According to our anchor Scripture above, Joshua, the high priest, called of God, highly respected, heavily anointed of God, stood ministering before God, but had his assignment resisted by satan because of the filthy garment he wore. The truth is, satan is highly interested in your assignment; and your garment can either assist him into your assignment or keep him off your assignment. Thus, the success of your assignment is connected to the state of your garment.  

The frightening thing is, everyone may have looked at Joshua as a holy and great man of God, yet satan ministered alongside with him as he ministered to God. What a tragedy!

Beloved, it is not how you appear before people that matters, but how you appear before God. Never struggle for human approval, struggle for Divine approval and invest your time and energy finding out what God thinks about you. That is what determines the outcome of your assignment in time and in eternity!

Remember this: The success of your assignment is connected to the state of your garment.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Do a sincere and thorough examination of your spirit to check the garment you are wearing – filthy or holy garment.
2. Determine to do away with any character trait that brings filth to your garment and assignment.

PREVAILING WITH GOD

SCRIPTURE:  “…for by strength shall no man prevail” – 1 Samuel 2:9b.
   
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Whenever you take your battle into your hands, you take it out of the hands of God.

The word ‘prevail’ means, to be superior in strength, dominance, influence or frequency; that is, to have or gain the advantage over others or something.  It is also to prove to be effective or successful in doing something.

Now, what does it mean to prevail with God?

Prevailing with God means succeeding with God; and to succeed with God, you must refuse to rely on your strength. You must allow God to fight for you. Whenever you take your battle into your hands, you take it out of the hands of God.

To succeed with God you must allow God to have your heart. Do not let bitterness and the pleasures of life get a grip of your heart. The truth is, anytime you harbour bitterness and an unforgiving spirit because of an offense, you have decided to fight your battles.

To succeed with God, you must also let your greatest passion in life be the pursuit of God, not the pursuit of money and materialism. This is because passion fuels pursuit, and your passion determines your portion in life.

I prophesy to you today, as you increase in your passion for God, no devil will deny you your portion in God, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Whenever you take your battle into your hands, you take it out of the hands of God.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Take out some time to think if there is any bitterness or lifestyle of strife you have exhibited in times past.
2. Ask God for mercy. Also call or visit the person(s) who offended you or were offended by you, if possible, to forgive them or be forgiven by them.

THE BENEFITS OF LOOKING UNTO GOD

SCRIPTURE: “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD” – Jeremiah 17:5.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: For as long as a man looks unto another man, frustration continues.

From our anchor Scripture above, we see clearly that it is not a blessing for a man to put his trust in another man, it is rather a curse. To look up to man is to go down in frustration.

It is true that many people have been  in church for donkey years, but their lives  have not changed for the better, because they have given the place of God in their  lives to man.

Beloved, the worst that can happen to a person is to trust in a fellow mortal man. That man could be yourself either because of your qualification, connection or riches. It could also be a system, an organization, a government or even a very “big” anointed man of God.
         
For as long as a man looks unto another man, frustration continues.

The frightening thing today is that, some people believe in encountering a man of God more than encountering God. I have heard people say, “Just let me encounter you, and my problem will be over.” Such statements are not only sacrilegious but very annoying to God.

Some people believe more in the touch of a man of God than the touch of God, while others believe more in the word of a man of God than the Word of God. What an error!

Beloved, there is no other way to succeeding on earth and with God other than looking up to God alone. It is either God or God!

Remember this: For as long as man looks unto another man, frustration continues.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Get the recommended message for today (Succeeding with God) and listen to it.
2. Consciously decide to trust God on all issues of your life.

Who says He no longer speak to His children? The problem is not that He doesn't speak but that His people are either too busy or stubborn to hear

Tonight I finally heard what He has been saying for the past one year. He spoke in a small voice I refused to hear. He spoke in dreams, I refused to hear. He spoke through others, I refused to hear. He spoke through situations and circumstances, I still refused to hear.

But His love didn't give up on me for more than one year. Forgive me Lord for being hard of hearing and help me to not just hear but to be obedient. Thank you for not giving up on me and by this I am confident that your word concerning my life MUST SURELY come to pass

AVOIDING THE TRAGEDY OF REGRETS

SCRIPTURE: “For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil” – Ecclesiastes 12:14

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Life is not rehearsal; it is reality.

Regret is a product of procrastination and indecision. The inability to act when one is supposed to act has paralyzed destinies and aborted great visions.

Beloved, life is not rehearsal; it is reality.

Many people at the end of their lives make regrettable comments like: “Oh! I would have done something else other than pursuing the vanities of this life, and now, time is up, I wished I had more time.”

One day, a young man rushed to my office panting. He had an encounter where an Angel appeared to him and said, “Your time has expired.”

The young man said, “Please give me one more year”, the angel said, “Time up!” He continued begging, “Please give me one more month; there are things I want to do for God”, the Angel still maintained, “Time is up!” Then he asked, “What of one more day?’ The angel said, “No!”

Before he knew what was happening, fire began to burn from his leg. “Jesus, help me”, he cried desperately. He was, however, shown mercy and came back to life. He said, “At the point I requested for an hour, the whole of my lifetime passed in front of me like a movie, including the times I would have lived for God that I compromised.”

It was a moment of REGRET!

Beloved, I give you the same counsel I gave to the brother: Those things you will remember to do when time expires, do them now to escape eternal regrets.

Remember this: Life is not rehearsal; it is reality.

MEETING WITH JESUS

SCRIPTURE:  “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man” – Luke 21:36.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To follow the fashion of the world is to end where the world is ending – eternity in hell fire!

Our teaching today is in form of a Question. It is the question of the dignity and modesty of our appearance. If Jesus Christ, the King of kings summons you to meet with Him, can you appear before Him the way you are?

Supposing there is a need for you to physically meet with Jesus Christ now, would you meet Him with your chest opened, cleavage exposed? Would you meet Him in those seductive trousers? Would you meet Him in those artificial things that have transformed your face and almost turned you into a masquerade?

When I see some people who claim to be born again Christians going to Church, it surprises me, because their look is not different from that of a Jezebel (Immoral and seductive woman) on the street.

Do not explain away your immodest appearance with the fact that you have faith. Faith is not just on the inside; genuine faith should also find expression on a person’s outward appearance.
The truth is, when we get to eternity there will be many surprises: “I am a church worker” will not mean anything to God then. Always dress the way you will be comfortable to appear before the Master. To follow the fashion of the world is to end where the world is ending – eternity in hell fire!

Beloved, it is not a matter of rules and regulations; it is a matter of what you will be comfortable with when you appear before Jesus and your conscience is justified. Appear like that!

Remember this: to follow the fashion of the world is to end where the world is ending – eternity in hell fire!

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Take out time today to reflect on your life; the way you are right now, are you prepared to meet Jesus?
2. Adjust whatever needs to be adjusted in your life to be fit to meet the Master.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

SCRIPTURE: “Watch out! Don't let my sudden coming catch you unawares; don't let me find you living in careless ease…” Luke 21:34-36 (TLB).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The degeneration of our generation is tied to the degeneration of character, principles and standards.

We have a very careless generation in our world today. Principles are broken, standards are trashed. In fact, anything goes. Eternity is almost totally ignored and carnality is embraced and advertised. You see people today preparing for weddings, examinations, occasions, etc., but they are never prepared for ETERNITY.

The Question here is: what would you do, if you had only 24 hours left to live before eternity?

The truth is, one day, everyone will have only 24 hours to live. So, WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY ON SUCH A DAY? Friends, if you had only 24 hours left, what would you do? I have an idea: I believe you are going to make sure that your relationship with God is in order. You will ensure that there is no unconfessed sin in your heart. I believe you are going to let go of every bitterness and unforgiveness. I believe you are going to ensure you make that last impact for heaven and eternity.

Beloved, my counsel to you is, DO THEM NOW! Many people say, “Tomorrow, when I get money, married, own properties, then I will become serious with God’. The tragedy is: that tomorrow may never come!

Please, START LIVING THAT RIGHT LIFESTYLE NOW!

Remember this: The degeneration of our generation is tied to the degeneration of character, principles and standards

PRAISE – A JUDGMENTAL WEAPON

SCRIPTURE: “Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” – Exodus 15:11.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your praise disarms and destroys the enemy.

Praise is a spiritual force that connects humanity to the wonders of God. That can be confirmed in the anchor Scripture above “Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” It is a vehicle for the manifestation of the wonders of God.

Praise is not a charismatic kind of entertainment but a spiritual force loaded with spiritual products. One of such products is vengeance and judgmental weapon.

Praise is a weapon of vengeance and judgement against the enemy (Psalms 149:5-9).We live in a world that is literally a battlefield. You don’t need to look for people’s trouble before they trouble you. You don’t even know who your enemies are; there are those smiling with you when they see you but are killing you behind.

So, when the praises of God are in your mouth, a sword of vengeance and judgement is in your hand.

We can also confirm that praise is a weapon of vengeance and judgment against the enemy in 2 Chronicles 20:22-23: When the Ammonites, the Edomites and the Moabites gathered against Israel. Israel started praising God, and as they were praising, their enemies began to fight one another. Your praise disarms and destroys the enemy, and gives you victory in battle.

As you make praise and worship a lifestyle, every enemy after your destiny will become unsafe, in Jesus’s Name.

Remember this: Your praise disarms and destroys the enemy.

CREATION IN PROGRESS

SCRIPTURE: Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth. – Psalm 104:30

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Spirit of God is the force of creation.

The Spirit of God is the force of creation. Our anchor Scripture corroborated this. There was no creation until the Spirit of God moved (Genesis 1:1-2). The truth is, the Spirit of God has not stopped moving since creation and creation is still in progress.

The Mercedes-Benz Company that manufactures Mercedes cars has spare parts that can replace damaged parts in their products. How much more the God of the universe? He can replace damaged kidneys, livers, eyes, etc.

Some time ago, a woman whose five-year old daughter was paralyzed (urinating and defecating without control) attended one of our Worship and Wonders Night programme with that burden. While a message titled, “The Lion of The Tribe of Judah” was going on, the Spirit of God began to move and all the way in Lagos state, Nigeria where the little girl was lying on bed, she saw a vision at that same hour: Jesus Christ was standing in front of her bed and said to her, “Little baby, rise up and walk” and the little girl looked and wondered Who the Person was.

When she heard the Voice, “Rise up and walk”, again, she rose up and stood on her feet and began to walk. Her grandmother almost fainted when she saw her walk. That is the creative power of the Spirit of God!

I prophesy to you today: Everything that needs recreation in your life shall be recreated by the Spirit of God in, Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: The Spirit of God is the force of creation.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Determine to make the Holy Spirit your companion.
2. Live a life of worship.
3. Trust God for the replacement of any damaged part of your body.

THE SECRETS OF EXPLOITS

SCRIPTURE: “…Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword...” – Hebrews 11:32-34

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Men of exploits are addicted to obedience.

Exploits are natural law-breaking events. They are earth-shaking and attention-commanding results. People of exploits like Elijah, Daniel, Deborah, etc. in Scriptures, were people of faith. They partnered with God in bringing down the order of Heaven to the earth.

 Now, let us explore the secrets of people of exploits:

1.They know God: Abraham, the father of faith, knew God. The Church of our generation is populated with people who have contracted others to know God for them; they only have second-hand information of God. That is why faith is scarce, hence, exploits are minimal.


2. They are connected to the Voice of God: They place a very high value on Divine direction and instruction. If Abraham decided to move, it was because God asked him to move. Connection to God’s Voice develops a high force of faith; it delivers a person from wrong moves and ushers him into the right place in life and destiny. The fact is, it is the right move that moves God into action.

3. They obey God instantly: Men of exploits are addicted to obedience (Genesis 12:1). They are not given to over analysis of instructions. In our generation, people analyse everything too much so they get into paralysis by analysis. But men of old obeyed God even when they did not understand the instruction.

I see God move you into the realm of exploits as you follow the steps of men in the Scripture who through faith made exploits, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Men of exploits are addicted to obedience.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Avoid the error of living a life empty of God’s Word.
2. Determine to obey God no matter the cost.
3. Crave for God and His manifest Presence.

DO NOT DISAPPOINT GOD AND YOUR GENERATION!

SCRIPTURE: …and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? – Esther 4:14b

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There is someone depending on your gift and the grace of God on your life for survival.

It has been confirmed that to fail to become what God wanted a person to be before leaving this world, is a waste of life and a disappointment of Divine Agenda. So, making the decision of leaving a mark on the sands of time and eternity is a crucial decision.

The truth is, everyone owes God and his generation a duty. There is someone depending on your gift and the grace of God on your life for survival. For instance, if Moses did not arise, Israel may have perished in Egypt.

Sometime ago, I preached a message titled, “TOO ANOINTED AND PROTECTED TO BE ARRESTED” and another one titled, “THEY ARE DEAD”. A pastor who attended one of our services picked those tapes and gave it to the father of a ten year old boy who used to steal everything he came across; nothing was safe in their house. Now, when this man played the tape in his house, the whole house was on fire. All of a sudden, a demonic bird that was inside the head of the troubled boy flew out physically and that was the end of the affliction.

Now, supposing that message was not preached? It is possible that the boy could have remained in that condition.

Human destinies are interconnected. That is why it is possible for someone to die by your refusal to release your potentials.

Beloved, WAKE UP! Release your potentials so you don’t disappoint your God and deprive your generation.

Remember this: There is someone depending on your gift and the grace of God on your life for survival.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Determine to be an agent of change in your generation.
2. Refuse to live for self.
3. Live with a sense of urgency.

MIRACLES IN THE MERCY OF GOD

SCRIPTURE: And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. – Matthew 14:14

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The mercy of God is the basis for the miracles of God.

It has been confirmed that the mercy of God is accompanied by the miracles of God. The mercies of God are the basis for the miracles of God.

In Matthew 14:8-14, the Bible confirms that the compassion Jesus had for the sick outweighed His grief for His dead cousin, John the Baptist. He could not have the time to mourn the death of His cousin because His compassion was toward the sick. That shows us the heart of the Master for the sick and the oppressed.

God is not the author of sicknesses but satan, the devil. The good news is that God is willing to heal the sick. He is compassionate and merciful; that is the reason He will heal you, not because he wants to demonstrate His power. So, place your faith on the mercy of God.

What would have made God kill His only Son for people to be saved? It is love. He sacrificed His Son to show us that there is nothing He cannot do to set us free. He killed His Son so you don’t die of cancer, HIV, kidney diseases, etc.

So, the understanding of the mercy of God and the placement of your faith on it is crucial to accessing your healing. Once you put your faith in His mercy, He will release His power to confirm His mercy.

Remember this: The mercy of God is the basis for the miracles of God.

1. Always make demands on the mercy of God upon your life.
2. Trust God for His healing power that flows with His compassion.

DEPLOY YOUR POTENTIALS

SCRIPTURE: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. – 2 Timothy 4:7-8

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You are not permitted to die loaded; you are only permitted to die empty.

I heard a story of a renowned keyboardist, an expert who was about 60 years old. He entered his room one day and saw a stranger, a man, on his keyboard playing tunes (heavenly tunes) he had never heard before, so excellently. He was amazed and as the man was playing, he began to weep. When he finished playing, the keyboardist went closer to him and said, “Please, who are you? Can you please tell me what you are doing?” The man said, “I came to show you the man you were meant to be, and the music you were meant to play.”

He looked at himself and began to weep. All of a sudden, the stranger disappeared. The Keyboardist began to wonder where to start from at 60. He said to himself, “So you mean that all the accolades I got from people is nothing compared to what God had in mind for me?” Then he realized that in the eyes of people, he had been celebrated but in the eyes of Heaven, he was not yet there.

So, it is not everyone celebrated on earth today that has recognition in Heaven.

Beloved, the greatest tragedy on earth is to appear in Heaven and realize that you did not do what you were created to do or that you missed the mark.

So, you are not permitted to die loaded; you are only permitted to die empty.

TOO BLESSED TO BE CURSED

SCRIPTURE: Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. – Galatians 3:13

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There is nothing that offers liberation like revelation

From inception, God created man in His image, and blessed him (Genesis 1:27). God did not curse man; He did not place an embargo on man. Rather, He released the blessing on man from the beginning. So, the blessing is older than the curse; be  it a generational curse, a family curse, an ancestral curse, a diabolic curse, a curse from native doctors, or a curse from witches and wizards, the blessing is older and more powerful than any curse.

Any curse trying to attack you has come too late. It is like darkness trying to arrive where light is already available. So, don’t be afraid of darkness when you carry light! Don’t be afraid of any dog when you are a Lion! Remember, “Who is he that saith and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?” (Lamentations 3:37).

There is nothing that offers liberation like revelation. The Bible says, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). The blessing has been on ground waiting for a curse to arrive so it can handle it. So, if there is any curse trying to work against your destiny, it has come too late; the devil came too late.

I decree that today is your freedom from every ancestral curse, generational curse, family curse, and diabolical curse. No divination or enchantment against you can succeed. You are blessed and no one can curse you, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: There is nothing that offers liberation like revelation.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Have faith in the Blessing of God; and reject every negative word spoken against you.
2. Ensure that you don’t rob God by refusing to tithe.
3. Maintain the atmosphere of God’s Presence.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A FIRE CARRIER

SCRIPTURE: And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty… – 2 Kings 1:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Fresh fire makes a person to face what others fear.

The fire of the Holy Ghost is behind the making of generational impact that cannot be erased. It is the Holy Ghost fire that imparts a life with the capacity to release potentials. That is why “Firelessness” equals uselessness.

Now, a person who carries the fire of the Holy Ghost has a character. A closer observation of the life of Elijah, a man of fire, can help us pull out the basic characteristics of a person of fire.

1. A person who carries fire does not look for external motivation: Elijah was a tireless, passionate, fervent, and enthusiastic person. When you have come to the point where you start looking for external encouragement, you are in need of the fire of the Holy Ghost. A person of fire is self-motivated and self-encouraged. He does not have the capacity to settle behind failures, mistakes, or defeats.

2. A person of fire is a fearless risk-taker: Elijah told God that he was the only remaining prophet of God in Israel yet they sought his life, but God said, “Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, …” (1 Kings 19:14-18). This means there were other prophets but they had no audacity to speak out like Elijah.

Fresh fire makes a person face what others fear. People on fire like Elijah literarily enjoy confrontation. Every time there is a confrontation with the forces of darkness, what they carry inside of them is stirred up.

Remember this: Fresh fire makes a person face what others fear.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Pray in the Holy Ghost always for the maintenance of fresh fire.
2. Feed on the Word of God daily.
3. Never turn away from any battle.

THE CALL OF GOD – THE MAKING OF MAN

SCRIPTURE: And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. – Matthew 4:19.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The calling of God is for the colouring of man.

It has been confirmed, as we can see from our anchor Scripture that the calling of God is for the making and the colouring of man. God does not call us to mock us, so no devil can mock who God has made.

One of the greatest privileges on earth is the privilege of being called by God; it is the privilege of working for God. Hebrews 5:4b says, ‘And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.’ So the calling of God is a call unto honour.

Your presence and labour in the vineyard of God is an implication for honour. It is an honourable thing, not a miserable thing, to serve the Lord. So, to believe in God and yield unto His calling is to become what He designed you to be.

Do not allow any devil force a life of misery, frustration, shortage and scarcity on you. The calling of God is a calling unto positive change and transformation. In Acts 4:13, the Bible says, “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” You see, Jesus called them and changed them.

I decree upon your life with the mantle of apostolic fire, after today people shall begin to marvel at your results in life, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: the calling of God is for the colouring of man.

1. Ensure that you are active in the work of God and be sincere with God.
2. Give God your best; never drag your feet in your service to God.

RELEASING THE PAST–YOUR FREEDOM UNTO FULFILMENT

SCRIPTURE: Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus – Philippians 3:13-14

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your history is not strong enough to fight your destiny.

Today is a strategic day in the history of our Nation, Nigeria. It marks the anniversary of our freedom from the bondage of colonialism. God is interested in the destiny of our Nation, and He is moving us to greater heights.

On a day like this, I want us to look at how a person, a Nation or an organization can be launched into fulfilment by releasing the past or negative experiences and confrontations.

You might have had some negative experiences in life like Joseph (Genesis 37). He was disconnected from his father by his brothers who hated him because of his dreams and his father’s love for him; they put him inside a pit for him to die but God intervened, and afterwards, they sold him into slavery.

He went through many trials but he was not bitter with his brothers; neither was he bitter with God. He released his past, and it was clear at the end, that his challenges only assisted the fulfilment of his destiny.

Just like Joseph, our Nation has passed through confrontations and challenges. This is because behind every glory, there is a story; behind every testimony, there is a test. What you suffered is only because of what you will offer. Your history is not strong enough to fight your destiny.

So, make up your mind to release your past today so you can embrace the future.
